Makes no sense to standardize the keyboard layouts, use what works best for each application.
I CAN'T STAND the alphabetical layout of the keyboard on my Pocket PC... in fact, I find it easier to type on the tiny QWERTY screen at the bottom of the pocketpc apps...

I do find it funny that we still use a keyboard layout invented for the typewriter in 1868 to prevent the typebars from binding. I think ABCD... is fine for a touchscreen

yea, having used the one on my ppc, its a pain in the ***, but, i plan to keep a perminent keyboard in my next carpc, coming out sometime next year, so im not tooo concerned. plus, half of this purchase was for my dad's laptop on a jotto desk in his truck,
anyway, from what im reading, looks to be pretty kick ***,
id buy it just for updated maps, there are tons of roads that i end up going to for work that dont exist on mine... built in the last year or so.

i found out that since i bought it only a little bit ago, i get a free upgrade. I still plan on using the igmon solution with roadrunner. especially for qwerty. Even though I will still have a keyboard in the car its still nice not to have to pull it out everytime i want to use the nav.

I doubt that igMon will work with iG v3.

My iGkeys will not work either. Neither will anything else that uses SendKey...
There is a chance this may be addressed in the future version.

What about keyboard input? Does something like hitting the enter key still go into the menu?

Enter takes you to the menu, but you can not navigate with the keyboard when you are in the menu.

On the iNav website, there is a Hotkeys menu (see here, about halfway down). I remember seeing something similar when reshacking v2.x, but never found it to play with. Does setting a hotkey allow SendKey to access it? There might not be a need for arrow keys to dive into submenus for a specific function if we can directly access it through a hotkey.

Well... I guess hotkeys will allow you to enter the destination dialog, from which you can use sendkeys.
