Sorry if this has already been asked but is there a way to mute or lower the music volume of when IGv3 gives voice directions. I know there were some hacks for previous versions but is there anything that can be done with IGv3?
Also, Ever since installing IGv3 in my car I get a noise like feedback every couple of minutes, It last about 3 seconds and then its gone. I haven't done anything else to the system so I'm not sure what could be the cause
as far as the volume, lowering, ... it's the same procedure as IGv2
as far as the noise... are you sure its not hdd noise filtering through into your speakers? Check the cables running from your carpc to your audio system and make sure they are shielded/grounded properly.
I did search but the only thing I came up with was how to increase the volume so it's heard over the music being played, not really what I was looking for. I was looking for a way to lower the music only while IG spoke directions (purdoom had worked out a way to do this by patching IG in previous versions, so did b8bboi in IGmon, but apparently IGv3 is different.
As for the noise, I haven't changed anything on the hardware side so I don't understand why I wasn't getting this noise before loading IGv3.
if you read the thread throughly, you can pretty much come to the setup that I have.
Master: use to control system volume
Wave: 100%
Winamp: 60%
Preamp: 50%
IGv3: 40%
When IGv3 talks, it will dip the volume to 40%, which lowers both the music and IGv3 volume. If the volume of IGv3 is raised, and since winamp is at 60% you can clearly hear IGv3 over the music and the music appears to be dipped. Overall it works pretty well.
Afaik, that is the best setup... of course you have to play with volumes and tweak to your audio system.
