GPS Disconnect Problems

I posted this in General hardware but only got one response so I thought I'd try here. My USB GPS will only report data to my software for a few seconds then disconnect. I have tried CF, MM, RR, and Streetdeck. When I run GPSInfo I see a constant data stream even after a disconnect but the location feature stops updating the location. I have tried this GPS mouse on my laptop and it works fine. The USB port under windows stays connected just fine. The hardware is an Athlon 64 X2, an nForce4 mobo, and an M2-ATX. It has been suggested to run Xport but I've never had to do this with any of my other hardware. Any ideas?

Have you turned off all powersaving settings for USB or adjust power profile settings for the system in general?

Thanks! Yes I have and it's weird, the port itself in device manager stays connected, it's just that the data is not readable by the applications. I do see raw data coming in with the GPS utility. And only on this system, my laptop works fine.????????

this sounds familiar, like i've read it before. Sorry but i'll have to suggest the search button cause i'm using a bluetooth GPS (used to use it with a mobile phone) so i'm out of ideas. i'm 99% positive it's been covered in one of the older posts. Good luck and happy searching!
