GPS reccomendation

Hi there
I have an evermore rm307 GPS receiver, however it will not lock and navigate whilst its in the cabin behind the windscreen.
It'll lock when glued to the bonnet of my car.
Is it possible for me to get this working from inside the cabin, or should I simply replace it for one that will work?
if I should replace it, can anyone give me a list of what usb gps receivers work from inside the cabin (under windscreen)
thanks
Richard

I don't know how to improve the reception, sorry.
My BU-353 is sitting on my dash, behind the windscreen. Ultimately it will be buried int eh dash of my Tacoma (which is all ABS plaastic). I've tested it and it works there. That means nothing visible for a thief to see

Mine works fine inside my car too. Just curious but is your windscreen a heated screen with the fine mesh in it? I have heard of a couple of people that couldn't get them to work behind them.

no it's a plain screen
the Evermore is only a 12 channel GPS so I'm wondering if it's too cheap a receiver to work from behind the screen?

DP - I suspect your screen has sunlight reflection built in... moving it else where will help.

I'm supprised you did not know that

@R600rkt - Check with your car maker... eg my Vectra has this film only on the front window - this film interfears with the signal and even stops it some times. Renault are the worst for this.

Worst case you could install in a BMW type fin like MC Stoo - and it looks way cool too.

I'm pretty sure my screen is not tinted/filmed in any way, however I still cannot get a motion lock with my EMT GM-R307 receiver.
am sorely tempted to buy another recevier, anyone particularly happy with a receiver that they'd reccommend?
thanks
Richard

I don't need any help with the location of my GPS receiver. It's working perfectly fine right where it is, and have tested it in the location where I unltimately will put the receiver as well. I have no idea what I said that led you to the conclusion that I needed assistance with the placement of my receiver.

I had the same tint issue. Until I put a magnetic strip under it with adhesive to the dash. Never had a problem since! I highly recommend it. I got it from the Pioneer Z1 unit from a relative's car.

i use a BU-353 and it works well .Most of the time fixed to the sats and gives 3d position .Sometimes when i drive in narrow treets with tall buildins , it loses the fix. Then you have to put it to the top of the car which is easy because it has a strong magnet .
