I have a $200 gift certificate to amazon and I want to buy a gps receiver for the carputer. I am going to be using linux with usb and need to know if amazon has something that will work.
That's a BU-353. Same unit I have. Same unit that's sold in the store here. I haven't heard of any users complain about this unit.

You never found that link, did you? Why? It's hard to find in the NavBar across the top of the forums, amongst a lot of other crap.

That's all well and good, but the poster has a gift certificate for Amazon, so the Geeks.com deal, while a good one, isn't useful.

Well, I got everything today. All I had to do was apt-get install gpsd and run gpsdrive and everything showed up working. I tried to install iGuidance 3, but alas , as I expected there was no luck in that (yet)
i havent tried ig3 in linux yet (as i currently dont have an optical drive hooked up to ANY of my linux machines.) but ive always wanted to try it in wine.
