Well i rebooted the PC and now it works for me if IG is running stand alone. If its embedded into the latest version of RR i throw the 'error 28' box. Wish there was a way to hardcode this into the ig.exe instead of having another application take it over when you launch the OSK.
Oh yeah the arrow and space bar also work for me

While it works great on my system, I've found a small "bug" in the way it behaves when you do not type the whole streat name. This is what happen when you:
1. "type" the first characters of a street name
2. click on the name you want in the window (or use the arrows to select another name)
3. "type" OK
Normal iGuidance:
IGQ iGuidance:
With IGQ, it does not "pick" the selection done with the mouse (or the arrows), and keep the first name from the list, offering a "1-99" street number range (the one from the "TOURNESOL" street instead of the "TOURNESOLS" street).
This is not a huge problem, but force to "type" the full street name, which is some case could be cumbersome.
Not sure if it is something than can be corrected, but if yes, then that would make your hack PERFECT! If not, you may want to get rid of the "arrows" buttons and use the space for something else, as the arrows don't work.
Thanks for your great work!
André
I looked into this and maybe its just my machine or a change i made with the newest release but i do not have this problem please try again and let me know

Version 1.0a is availible for download [see 1st post]
anyone who has a problem please do the following:
1. close iGQwerty
2. Create a new txt document in the root dir of iGQwerty
3. Rename that file igq.debug (this will obviosly have no file association)
4. Rerun iGQwerty
5. After the problem as occured check the root Directory of iGQwerty again
6. Locate debug-igq.txt
7. Attach it here with a description of what is happening including your version of Windows XP, Screen Resolution, Front end (if any), etc

Not working with iGLaunch
This is fantastic! The only issue I am having is, I use iGLaunch to properly embed Iguidance into Roadrunner. I suspect that the exe name change is not allowing IG-Q to work in this mode. Are there any settings that can be changed to make this compatible? I need to use iGLaunch and would really like to have a qwerty keyboard.
Thanks for your effort and a great add on.

Just tried it with ig launch it didnt load the 1st time but after clicking on it it loaded ok
if iglaunch is loaded standalone it works fine
so roadrunner is stealing focus apparently but gives it back after the intial load (at least here it does)

I just downloaded 1.0a and confirmed I have the same problem. Without IG-Q, it works fine but with it it cannot find addesses correctly.
Here are my steps:
Downloaded and patched UMPC for the coordinates. Then I put a shortcut to IGQ in the Startup Folder for All Users. I also put one on the desktop to make it easy to test.
Start UMPC from the desktop, nothing else running.
Press Menu, Destination, Address, Change State
IGQ OSK is showing on the screen now.
Press I O (for IOWA) and it is in the shown in the Blue Bar so press OK.
UMPC then says I've selected ALABAMA (AL) ?!
Umm... no.. Try again.
Change State
I O W A Ok
Still Alabama!
Something is not working.
Let me know if you want me to try something else. (I'm also a Windows programmer) You're so close it has to be something simple!
John

Weird. I've played with it again, and it looks random: sometimes it behaves correctly, sometimes not. I can't figure out a common pattern.
Let me test this again, and I'll come back to you when I find a common pattern ... if there is!!

Hehehe I TRIED that once, still have the Modified iG here. Problem is that there are not enough buttons on the rows to simply change out the letters ect. The KB needs re-arranged as lostreceptions app does.
Here is a screen cap of the iG keyboard I was TRYING desperately to get working at one time. There are no other helper applications running when this screen cap was taken:

(This was taken in the middle of skinning iG to match my skin)
All I could do was take the left over letters at the end of the rows, and move them to the bottom row The good thing was that the keys, when pressed, coorispond to what they are labled and all, but thats about as far as I could get. (Oh, this was donw with a hex editor)

I'm no longer getting error 28, now it's 55 (file already open) and then IGQwerty crashes and closes.
Running on XP SP2 with an Aopen Dual Core CPU and 1G RAM.
StandAlone I get the Qwerty keyboard, but entries don't 'take' as in Andrel's problem
In RR (newest beta, but not imbedded) I get the error 55 and IG3's regular keyboard

Version 1.0b
- Fixed loop in Trying to show OSK
- Attempted to Fixed Runtime error 50 which was the debug file hanging in the open state and not closing properly
- Other small issues fixed
Im still unable to duplicate the keyboard problem some of you have been experiencing I'm sure its something simple and ill have it sorted by the next release
