Exclamation Help me Started!

I want someone to tell me about the format of the data generated by the reciever so that i can use it to build a software on a microcontroller that read the data from GPS receiver.
All what i have seen only explain the technical things and also with no details on the steps of build the system from the first step to the last step.

Most off-the-shelf GPS receivers output NMEA data. (Some output data in other formats, like the Garmin proprietary format).
