New GPS Receiver Needed

Hey Guys,

Its been a while since I visited the forums. I am currently using a USB BU-303 but I have always had a hard time getting good locks in city areas or anywhere there are high buildings.

I am sure there are 100's of threads that talk about this but I was not able to find any with the search.

I am looking for the best option here, I also would like to get rid of that USB error message when my computer wakes up,and have much better sat locks in all areas. I use Iguidance.

Any advice guys?

-Devin

I've been using the BU353 (Sirf III) all summer and it's fantastic! I had the same one you have and like you, I had problems. The BU353 always locks on at least 12 sats for me. In fact, in my garage, with a metal roof, it locks onto 6 sats!!! With the old receiver, it would never lock on a single sat.

Sweet does the BU353 get rid of that error message on wakeup?

Where would be the best place to pick up a BU353 ?

Hmmmm, my BU303 has never had any issues except that the signals were very weak. Now a little scared about the BU353. Can anyone tell me upon wake up in Iguidance does the BU353 give a connection error?

My bu353 has never worked good either. I would never get locks even though I had plenty of satellites.

I am now using the holux receiver and it has been flawless so far.

I have some SiRFstar III GPS receivers for sale on my website.
SiRFstar III means you no longer lose satellite connections if you're between tall buildings, mountains or trees.
