Trying to decide between two OE style recievers.

I've searched before asking this, I promise.

Anyway, I'm looking for an OEM style GPS reciever, and narrowed it down between the PMB-288 and the GM-M308, both available from Deluo. I haven't really heard anything about the Gm-M308, which uses an EverMore chipset. The PMB-288 uses the Sony CXD2951GA-4 chipset, which I've heard isn't the best, but it is WAAS enabled. From what I've read on here, I gather I'm better off using a SirfstarIII based reciever, but I haven't been able to find one in an OEM style.

So anyway, if I can't find a SirfIII based OE reciever, which of the two do you think I'd be better off with? In case it makes a difference, I plan on using this with iGuidance 3.0.

Most OEM module are old, uses crappy chipset, needs TTL<>RS232 converter and are expensive.

You are better off buying a complete SIRF3 GPS. Open it and what do you find, a nice little module with all the bits you need. Plug in an external active antenna to complete it. Much cheaper and better than those crappy OEM module you will ever find.

If you do ever find a nice up to date OEM module I doubt they come cheap.

Plenty of cheap GPS receiver out there with SIRF3 or RFMD chipset, mine is BT, reason is that I also want to be able to connect my PDA/phone GPS navigation to it.

Arg, the more I read, the more I realize that doing most of my getting lost in NYC makes GPS a royal pain hehe. I think I'm going to have to wait for jcdillin to slap together a couple more of his ublox DR modules. Thanks for the info though guys.
