ADUBB: Tried PM, your inbox is full

Please add me to the list, I'd love to test this...and on days when I'm in the vehicle (usually 4 or 5 days a week) I put about 300 miles/day on the odometer, gives ya lots o data to play with.

Im looking for something like this, but that does NOT require any type of service/web/online subscription.

Anything out there that will simply take the GPS log and upload it to my home computer once wifi is detected? Or similar approach?

I'd would like to beta-test this too. Could you send me the code as soon as possible, please?

I'd love to give this a shot. I was going to develope my own plug-in for netstumbler, but they are being pretty annoying about taking out their software block on hibernation. What you have shown us in the screens are absolutely beautiful. I'd love to beta test this!!

Am I the only one with privacy concerns with this application? Why do these data loggers (seen a few so far) require you to send your data to a central server?

I would love to have something like this, but that would instead send the data to my Home Computer, where a standalone application would interpret the data etc.

There is just no way on earth I am going to tell 'someone' (or the entire world) where me and my family have been driving, every minute, every day of my life. Why would I?

Has anyone received an invitation code to test this? I was really hoping to see Adubb back on here to get this up and running again.

Status of Newbend.com

Hi Guys,

As most of you are wondering; it has seemed like we have abandoned the project. This isn't true, but I'm going to be honest. I was very overwhelmed with the response on this forum for the project, I have had over 1000 requests for an invitation code and I never would have expected that much interest, It's good, but heres the issue. My partner , who developed the project with me back in College (seems so long ago now haha) has continued on in his studies and is bottlenecked with that right now, He was the main developer for the client software, which in Beta testing was having the issues. The good news is we are going to release version 2 of the site in august, and we hope by then there will be no need for invitation codes, we just cant keep the software open till its 100% secure.

PS:
If ANYONE is experienced in C#, C++ or VB.NET please give me an email .... andrew@newbend.com , we are looking for some experienced assistance. Also if you interested in carrying the web development side I could use some experienced AJAX,PHP,SQL develoepers to assist...

Well the good thing about the information stored on the newbend system is that its encrypted... and I agree with you with the privacy issue and this was something we were very concerned about... but in the case someone steals your car and burns it... and you save you data on a HD in your truck... wouldn't a central secure system help?

Adubb,
Any chance you'd consider releasing a version where the gps data is uploaded to our own server instead of yours?

This would be ideal for me. I am working on a similar system but need to have everything on an intranet.

Please keep us posted on this.

I would also like an invitation code to see what is going on so far.

We're Back!!!

Hi Everyone!!

I know we have came back and forth to the forum with some heavy promises of launching a new application and handing out invitation codes. I think its safe to say this time that Newbend is now back online. We are no longer using a Invitation Code Signup system, sign-ups are now open.

New Features:
- More secure JAVA based client.
- Faster compression on live tracking.
- Ability to analyze offline content for individuals who were interested in this.

Let me know if anyone has any questions, www.newbend.com

offline log upload mode is currently unavailable which should be restored by tonight.

Just another note too, if you signed up, check your spam folder for confirmation. Sometimes goes there
