Oh, another thing, legally the prosectution has to show you any/all of their evidence if you ask to see it. You can use that to make your defense. The only bad thing is that it goes both ways.

I guess it would depend on how much he was speeding by? Or should all speeding tickets be contested? But I still paid the same amount of money on the ticket, so I'm just wondering is it worth it to contest the ticket for 110 dollars?
That is hard to say. Here in Cali, they quickly suspend your license. Here is a link http://www.dmv.ca.gov/dl/vioptct.htm and of course, insurance premiums jump after a moving violation.
ALL speeding tickets should be contested, unless, after you look at the code section you were cited for ALLEGEDLY violating, you determine that you violated EVERY ELEMENT of the law. You can search on my name and tickets on this forum, and see more about this.
In California, there is no "reduction" of moving violations. The judge MIGHT reduce the fine if you plead guilty, but the violation is the violation, you get the points, and the "conviction" is entered on your record, and you get the points.
I know in other states, they do reduce violation to non moving violation in some instances, or lesser point numbers, but not in Cali.

Great idea! Instead of using the documentations found on various websites, ask Pharos to fax you answers to three questions:
1. Did they supply the GPS receiver iGPS-360 included in Microsoft Streets & Trips 2005?
2. Does the GPS receiver update location information once per second?
3. Is the velocity accuracy of the receiver 0.1 meter / second?

What state do you live in again? Find out if the laws in your state require the state police/city police to maintain a license for radar/laser guns. If you are forced to fight this, ask them to provide the last time the guns were properly calibrated and tested.
I've argued this and gotten halfway off.
110mph in a 55mph. Cop was being okay I guess, he clocked me at 90mph (5mph over where the wreckless endangerment charge comes into play.) He told he'd cut me a break which he kinda did. Ticket 85mph in a 55mph zone. It was $345.
I went to court one mother later, contested the ticket. I didn't admit I was speeding but didn't deny it. In conneticut they do/used to require frequent calibration and testing by a netrual third party. The state trooper never showed up, the clerk in that day made a bargin. $110 ticket, no points. I could have fought it but may not have won.
Don't give up, that's what they want you to do. If the government and police really cared about your safety they wouldn't be hiding to give you tickets, they'd be driving with the people to scare them into driving safely.

I had that happen once in Oregon, but it wasn't a state thing, it was just the cop being nice to me, and he downgraded it before he even wrote the ticket. I don't think there's any official provision for doing that sort of thing.

There is in NC, in my town I even know the "speeding ticket" lawyer. Hire him for like, $50 and you're pretty much guaranteed to get the fine reduced to nearly nothing and no points.

I just got a letter from the prosecution requesting the judge for a 'Request for Evidentiary Hearing'
He also requests the court lets him exam the equipment used to take the GPS log. I really have no idea how they expect me to remove a integrated car pc and set it up to the point where they can use it out side of a car environment.
He states in the letter " The state never had the opportunity to review the evidence prior to the hearing and the court has ordered briefs to be filed including a brief on credibility of the program and science that is foundation of the evidence submitted to the court by the defendant"
I infact did offer to let him see the video at the pre trial, and he told me I was not required to and he suggested I not show him, because he would use it against me. I told him I would be showing a video and wanted to make sure there was nothing I had to do make it admisable, he said there was not.
Therefore, he did have an opportunity to review the evidence.
Also, the judge accepted the evidence durring the trial, so can he legally call up this evidentiary hearing, even if it has already been accepted as evidence?

Lol, another time, I got pulled over by a cop on the 21st of March. I was doing 75 in a 40kmph school zone right after school. But honestly it wasnt on purpose or anything, I wasnt getting any thrills by speeding, I was talking to my sister who was sitting in the passenger seat and I didnt even notice the speedometer exceed 40kmph. He was an undercover cop. I tried to be all nice and crap and explained to him that I was just talking to my sister about something and did not notice my speed. He looked at my license, noticed that it was my birthday in 2 days and let me off with a warning saying "Happy Birthday, BUT slow down." It would have been a 200CAD+ ticket, i believe it is the most expensive B'day gift I've ever gotten.

Well, unfortunately speeders who are speeding because they aren't paying attention are probably far more dangerous than those who speed for thrills. If you are speeding to speed you at least probably have a heightened sense of awareness. If you weren't paying attention to your speed you probably could have missed something else.
But in the interest of staying somewhat on topic, I will look up the law in NC statues about disclosure of evidence and get back to you. I know for a fact it exists, although the law is different in different states. In the meantime, it's late and I have school tomorrow...

here in georgia they tell you the last time the gun was calibrated and show you some paperwork on it Gun usually calibrated twice a day or more if you're pulled over in a high ticket zone.
There are several roads that I drive by daily where you will see at least one person pulled over every day. Been pulled over on that road twice, both times I was under the speed limit.

96T/A: What state are you in? Traffic court rules vary widely from state to state and what may be okay for me in New York may not fly at all where you are. Its hard to tell you either way without that.

How irresponsible are you? You telling us you didn't notice the car almost double in speed! Looking at the speedo or not! In the UK you'd have been charged for 'driving with undue car and attention' just for admitting it, on top of the speeding ticket!
You shouldn't be in control of a car!!! Never mind one with the distraction of a CarPC too
