Which gps work with freedrive

Hello, I'm quite new to this, and I'm not sure which gps work with freedrive.
Do they all work, or only certain brands / types?

Any GPS receiver that will output NMEA data will work.
I recommend a newer unit with a SirfIII chipset.

darquepervent, does it matter to use sirf chipset if one uses NMEA compatible software that does not utilize sirf.. correct me if I am wrong..

The SIRFIII chipset is strictly in the GPS receiver.
It enables the receiver to get a faster lock to satellites and triangulates your position faster and more accurately than older technologies.

It has nothing to do with the data that is output by the receiver. If the output from the receiver is NMEA sentences, then it will work correctly with FreeDrive, regardless of the chipset inside the receiver.

Thanks, so it doesn't matter if it is USB or COM or what ever else they use?

No, although some software is limited as to the COM ports it will read.
There are COM splitter apps (GPSGate, xPort, etc.) that will get around that limitation, if it's even an issue.
