GPSSecure: Delorme Fix->No Fix->Fix logging error

This one is going to be a pain to debug. With the Delorme GPS it will start out with fix and will be logging perfectly. If the receiver looses fix and then gains a fix again GPSSecure will not continue logging. I have a BU-303 and have tried this myself but it continues to log perfectly for me. For me to be able debug this I'm going to need some info:
- Once the Delorme goes from No Fix to Fix does the latitude and longitude start changing again?
- Does the status bar give any indication to it failing to log?
- Does the "last position log" update?

I don't even have a clue as to what would be causing this unless the latitude and longitude stop updating completely. If I can't get it from this info someone is going to have to buy me a Delorme.

I run the Delorme with their serial driver feeding GPSS and Map Monkey (MM). After no fix to fix, both GPSS & MM pick right up where they left off: lat, long, speed, and distance. GPS status says connected. Fix is green with 4 bars. Satellites on globe are updated. The only thing stopped is the GPSS logging.

Status bar hasn't changed: "Position information logged". Nothing I do changes it. Fix/nofix/fix doesn't change it, unplugging GPS doesn't change it, closing serial splitter doesn't change it.

Yesterday's logs were unuseable on the server (first time that's happened), but the good news is based on the server log time window the entire file is there. (Another big file)

Tried something new today: switched serial splitter virtual com ports to 2,3, and4. Set GPSS on com2 and based on 15 min sitting still, GPSS resumes logging after losing fix and after GPS is disconnected and reconnected. GPSS fix/strength bars gets weird after a while after it loses fix the first time - serial splitter shows 3D DGPS unchanged throughout, but GPSS cycles between nofix/fix then logs position. Strange. Will leave it on com2 and monitor more today.

Keep me informed. If anything I might have you test out the new version before I release it because it will give more information on the logging status in the minimized view. Thanks for testing.

Give me 2 days because I'll be really busy tomorrow. I just have to finish one last thing on the minimized part. Any changes that you would like me to make to the minimized view before I finish it up? (From what you can see in the screenshots and info I posted in the other thread).

hey, ***this is only a question, so please dont everyone chew my head off***, the xport program seems small enough so i guess the code isnt that big, so my question is *and again since you seem to really be advanced here on the programming aspect*... why not just design the serial split biult into your program? (1) it gets the true gps info directly, then have it send it out on a specified comport for everyones gps software.. * I dont clam to know enough programming myself for that task, but as i mentioned b4, between the software and server and the extras, one day you will be able to charge for your services..

**ill except "keep my mouth shut", but shooting me wont help guys...( friendly forum until you say the wrong thing )

If you look on the To Do list it is there Ya, you are right though. This is something that I definitely need to do. As soon as .NET 2.0 comes out it will be much easier to do so I was planning on waiting till then but I'll move it higher up on my list.
