[BETA] GPSSecure

Updates:
Finished the first release of the web client: http://www.gpssecure.net/GPSSecure/WebAppForm.aspx
If you want to test it out:
Logs are entered for May 3rd and before.
Username/Password = demo/demo

-MapMonkey Support
-SMTP log upload and import
-Distance information added in.
-Way better communication and a lot of error prevention mechanisms added in.
-A few more settings
-Other stuff, look in the screenshots.

I need beta testers for my newly created application. Please post if you are interesting in the beta test. I need it to be controlled so that is why I just don't release it. Have database stuff I want to monitor.
Information on what GPSSecure is can be found in here: http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/gpssecure/50025-what-gpssecure-documentation.html

And the Screenshots. This is GPSSecure that would be running in your car:

With MM support:

And of the Desktop Client

Looks good m8. Interested in testing but would like to wait until after the UK meet as don't want to mess around with the setup just yet.

What are you using for the maps?

I'm pulling the maps from the Microsoft Terraserver, that is why they will only be offered in the United States. If there is a similar map service in the UK then I will be willing to add that in as soon as I work on the maps stuff more.

I'd definitely be interested in helping with the testing of this too.

There is a UK service for mapping www.multimap.co.uk and it can be fed long/lat as follows:
http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.c...e=10000&icon=x

Hope this helps

Why?

Did you think of writing the car client as a MapMonkey Plugin??
That would ( for us using mapmonkey ) avoid using com port spliting software and using nmea

More than likely both as its probably written in VC or VB .NET.

No, he's written it so it logs the data at regular intervals locally (on your CarPC) and then it uploads said log to his server at other regular intervals - when a connection is present.

Everything is written in C#. If you have Windows XP you probably already have the .NET Framkework unless you haven't put a single update on your computer.

As for for bringing up those maps with an internet connection I don't think that will be too difficult. Ripping the whole database is a differant story though. I'm sure it could be done but it would be difficult to organize all the tiles and display them how you want.

Does MapMonkey have any way of interfacing with it?

So it can do UK maps (I still have to add in zoom, scale and the other stuff) but I was looking at the maps terms and conditions..... Am I going to get in trouble for doing this?

Ok, Frodo, how about an open ended question this time How do I interface with MapMonkey, or get on msgr and tell me.
