Installer or no Installer?
Just wondering what everyone prefers more for when I release 1.0. Right now for those that have used it I have just the exe files and the dll file it needs that you just unzip and put where you want. Would you prefer that or would you prefer that I create an installer that will create shortcuts and make it a bit easier to place where you want.
Either way is just as easy for me.

Doesn't matter to me, but some people may need the installer or they'll get confused.

The installer would make it simpler for people who aren't too good with software and whanot, but I prefer the ZIP. Why not give two options, Zip or Installer??

I prefer the installer, just because I'm lazy. But the zip is nice for customization.
It definitely wouldn't take any more bandwidth, and would hardly take any more space on the server, so yeah, why not just offer both?

You can put it where you want with the installer too. It is just with the installer all of the shortcuts are made for you.
Check my response in the Alt-Tabber thread.

hmm
How about both ??
I know that in my config right now I'd probably just like to expand the zip and start plugging away at the program on my carpc.
But before I take that plundge I'd install it on my desktop at which point i'd use the installer...
Not sure if this was mentioned before so forgive me if I ask a question that has been anwsered...
is GPS secure written in .Net ??
Only reason I ask is because of the question you asked... (xBrady)

Thanks for the input. Ya it is written in C#. Thus one of the reasons the installer isn't necessary, most of the libraries I use are included in the framework.

Maybe down the road but not right now as I don't want to worry about source control till I get something stable that will only need add-ons. Right now I am making too many big changes that it would be an open source pain.
Ya, my variable names suck so bad that de-obfuscating would suck Dang CLR makes it practically open source as it is.

No installer for me. I have a removable HDD in my CarPC, so it is easiest to dock it on my home PC, unzip to the drive, and manually create a shortcut to it in the drives startup folder. Then when I put the HDD back in the car, it is already setup with zero in-car configuration to do.
