IGuidance support! No need for a port splitter.
As you can see from the image below there are two new option for GPSSecure to grab GPS information from: iGuidance 2.0 and 2.1. Hopefully it will work as well as I hope. This will make it so that those using iGuidance won't have to use a port splitter!

Steals the NMEA string from memory and using the same code I have for grabbing the string right from the receiver. Possibly scanning it if the mem location changes. Hence the reason I said hopefully it will work as well as I hope It is working for me but I need to test it on other peoples computers.
This part will only work on Windows XP but if anyone uses iGuidance on a differant version of Windows then I'll adjust it.

Here is a screenshot of GPSSecure and iGuidance next to each other. Differences: Convert the meters I display into feet, Iguidance doesn't change the direction unless you actually start moving so that is why that is different, and the sat. drawings. It looks like the position of the sats. the way I am drawing is flipped from Iguidance. Also Iguidance draws the sats. depending on your direction so it is rotated from what I have there.

How well does this work? Doesn't the memory location change depending on what programs are loaded on the computer?

This is the memory with respect to the program. Each application has its own chunk of memory. This value should rarely change and if it does it will only be by a few bytes if at all. This is why I need some people to test it out.
EDIT: Forgot to add that if it does change then I'll just scan the memory locations around it and should always find what I'm looking for.

I've got it compiled and uploaded already. Just go to the old page I had up before (it is up now). I think the version number inside the app itself is wrong but it is version 0.91.
As far as the web page goes it should be up soon (hopefully today). I have moved everything to a new server (very stable, yea!) but just need to get some things configured so it will work right.

Would you, could you, have you ever thought of creating a little utility to grab the GPS data (as you are doing already) and make it generally available through COM or some such like?

I don't like the idea of having to upload MY DATA to a server in order to interpret the data.... other than, it was a good concept. Maybe next time!

I'm not sure what you are talking about. How else would you have it? That is the point of GPSSecure. In the settings you can control what goes to the server and what is kept on your computer. The client app that goes in your car interprets the data.

Umm, I could do that. No one has asked for it yet though. Do you have a use for it?

Sorry, I must have not RTFM! So I can interpret the data all locally? OK, will RTFM and spend more time with it, apologies!
