power to screen
how is a laptop screen powered and can i hook it up to a computer when seperated from the laptop?

IT's powered from some power source inside the laptop.
And you can't hook it up to another PC without some major reworking. In most cases, it's not worth the time, effort and parts you'd need to get it working.
