The retailer I just bought my 3rd eye kit from sent me an email saying that they are out of stock and have it on back order for 3 weeks. Is there anywhere else I can buy it from? (vivaperformance is out of stock as well...)

I do not have any of the 3rd Eye kits left, but I do have several of the USB converters left. They are complete with Robby's PIC, case, and USB cable. PM me if you are interested.

For those of you guys that have the 3rd eye system and have hacked it apart I have some questions. I have been looking at as many pictures as I can of the actual internal reciever PCB board. From what I see its just 1 IC (TDA5200) which sells for about $4, a RF reciever (looks like a spring), a crystal or two, and a few resistors and caps. I have the means to solder surface mount components using my SMT line...I think we may be able to produce this board for under $40 and then simply have to buy the sensors from viva ($99). My main concern is programmed ICs, from the pictures I don't see that the reciever has any but of course Bobby's PIC is programmed but other than that I don't see any other hurdles...Are there any components I am missing? Also I am interested to know how the sensors are paired to reciever I would think that there should be some programming in there as each sensor has its own ID number which would need to matched but maybe its something standard that can be done just by the front end???

Try contacting Enak.

Although he's in the UK so shipping might make it expensive.

This is probably a silly question, but which way did you put the pic into the socket? The small embossed semi-circle on the top of the chip is supposed to go toward the USB socket.

Also, make sure you check voltage across J1 and J3. You should have about 5v DC.

No I did not see in Deceive Manager.

The pic is in the good way plugged into the socket.
Witch small circle toward usb socket.

And I read 5V dc.

I'm not sure, but must pic programmed first?
If yes, then is the pic not programmed.

If you are buy PIC from robby then is already programmed if you are not then you must buy it from him...
I can't help you a lot with your board... Do you have right PCB? Did you build it yourself?
