As usually, I recommend everyone to terminate all the programs that have direct access to the TPMS interface, like RoadRunner, Centrafuse and TPMS Doctor, before to launch RRTMS Config and to perform the "learnig" procedure.

I am glad to hear that you may have found the culprit. Thanks again for all your hard work on this Robby!

Hey guys,

If you are looking for a kit we are working on one right now. I think I posted this link somewhere in the thread but i know there's like a million posts now so here it is again if you can't find it. (http://www.portalmediapc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=10) Its cheaper than the 3rd eye (less than $200) and you don't have to hack together a system as it will be all on a single circuit board (we are going surface mount on the components as well to speed up production and reduce costs). I will be selling the sensors too as part of a complete USB kit (I am getting them directly from malayasia). Also Robby is going to help me with getting the chips programmed so you don't have to worry about having a different unit than the rest of us as it will work exactly the same. Right now we are working on getting a waiting list together for the initial run(only 8 spots are left) and those buyers will get the units at a bargan price, but after that MP3car will most likely be handling the online sales and the price will be significantly higher.

Sounds good Lok! Thanks for taking this thing by the reigns and getting it moving in the right direction.

Excellent Lok...The completely integrated USB kit would be very welcomed. You have a PM.

The 3rd eye TPMS unit was way too over-priced. TPMS kits from other vendors are available for $60-$100 and offering more or less the same functionality. But since the USB TPMS PIC was based on the 3rd Eye kit, we were pretty much stuck with it.

I am having problems with the learning procedure as well using Dejans board and a hacked 3rd eye...I know Robby has updated the Doctor and the RRTMS but I am using CF however and I was wondering if there was a way around this issue without me having to load up RR...

I have just installed the 3'd eye sensors on my wheels.

Highslide JS

Quality is not impressive. I manage to destroy one sensor.

Highslide JS

The instruction manual was not specific on how to place washers. I did not use my sense, and placed alu washer on wrong side first as I tried to do it as I could see from picture in manual. Alu washer goes on the outside...

The aluminium nuts also loose shape once fitted, and it is a bit difficult to refit the tyres. At least the low profile 18" I've got on my E46 BMW.

The washer for the insex nut at the sensor also gets deform once mounted.

The pin for holding the pin still when fastening the nut did not fit 3 of the 5 sensors I tried.

In short, you get one chance to do it right and you cannot refit a sensor once used.

A bit disapointed of the poor quality and I have not yet got to the point of learning sensors and receiving data...

One question: Without looking into the spec of the pic the learning problem must be in the writing/erasing of EEProm/flash in the pic. Or possibly some powersupply issue as write cycles might require a second voltage supply. What do you think? Is there a new pic sw in the pipe?

I had my sensors professionally installed at Discount Tire Co. They had no problems in the installation but I was told that if I were to hit a large pothole I would most likely break a sensor (maybe all of them). This was due to the fact that I have ultra low profile tires and also because the sensors didn't sit flat against the Rim (the way my enkies are designed they couldn't) they actually were sticking out.

By the way I don't think anyone answered this yet but is there a way to do the learning procedure without CF or RR?

On a positive note, we got to know what is inside the sensor
Do you have detailed snapshots of the sensor board...I'm curious to know the transmitter chipset.

As I said in this post, it is possible to perform the learning procedure with the configuration tool provided with the RoadRunner plugin, even if you use Centrafuse.
There isn't need to install RoadRunner, just download the last release of RRTMS plugin from here end extract the program "RRTMS Config.exe".

No, the problem was due to a bug in the management of the USB input buffer.

Maybe you have confused the program flash memory, that require a second voltage supply to be programmed with the internal EEPROM, that can be written and erased directly by the program.
