XM mini tuner hacked?

Has anyone found a way to connect the XM mini tuner to a PC via USB/serial and/or audio?

I see there are cradles made for it.

Are you sure he is working on the "mini tuner"? I do not see anything on his site anouncing this as an upcoming project.

Spektre

When I asked if he still made the original XM Direct serial cable, he told me he no longer sells it, and if I was willing to wait for a XM Direct 2 interface cable. He started to tell me all its features, mentioning the mini tuner..... Message him and maybe he'll explain it to you.

Well I think that's the main purpose of the minituner.. That you can bring that little card chip into the car cradle and listen there. Take the card out and put in your home cradle and the subscription follows it.

Thats exactly correct. I have one for that exact purpose! Why pay for two subscriptions when I'm not going to be in two places at once? (try as I might...) The tuner itself is super small and seems to be pretty rugged so far. While I have it connected to my home amp and car already, having the option of a USB line for my PC will make it all the more versatile...

Mitch,

Can you post a protocol/timing spec for the mini tuner?

when all done, it uses the xmdirect (xmd1000) protocol
takes a little longer to turn on... but otherwise basicly the same

since this protocol is publicly unknown, i dont even know it
only plublic data is from reversing
