U have to have one wired reverse kit, and one wireless. You then have to buy the USB controller thingy v1.00 for one of the reverse kits, then another USB controller thingy v1.10 and use it with the other. So your using 2 reverse kits and 2 controller boards.

I started doing similar project but googled first to see is similar work is done. I would go w/ proposed splution (nice job guys, seriously) but what i dont like here as we are looking at tooooo much remanufacturing..
So here is my suplemental proposal:
My engeneers can develop fully custom board for the comunity say board w/ 16 sensors ( 8 on fron, 8 in the back as new BMW) all on one board w/ USB or RS232 interface. The only thing we will need to do is to get sensors. We can get those wholasale from china no problem. So in that way no one needs to do any soldering and remanufacturing ebay thingies. so all 16 sensors in one single box with USB
If some one interested we can start working on that, the only thing, some one will help me out w/ softwarre as I dont know how to work with USB HID from Visual Basic.

16 sensors????????????? Thats crazy!.... I have always thought that 8 looked terrible, I cant imagine 16. You have to be a really bad driver to need that many. Which specific BMW has this, I want to see what it looks like. Are the sensors hidden?

well 16 ports for "Driving Miss Daisy" ;-)
I have no sensors, on my AMG they are ussless ... but if we do the pcb rhen its better to have expansion slots.
I dont remember the bimmer model, its the 6 sirees, its parked downstairs, I can try tak some pix in couple of days. But the point of the senors is the blind spot for shifting lanes. So if u showing turn signal and there is a car in tour blind spot the buzzle will alert u. That is really good safty feature. As just tooo many acidents happaning caz ofblind spots. (sure sensors have them too, but thats out of the siscussion for now)

Ahhhhh, so its not 100% for the rear, but for the sides also... Thats more understandable. Similiar to what ford is doing on their cars, but theirs is ghetto. Its a LED light in the rear mirror, if a car is in the blindspot it turns on. I went to the extreme and have cameras in the blind spots.

about 16 ports: idea to make use flexible and softrare configurable. so say I want 4x4 or 8x8 or 4x2 or 2x2 its all should be up to the user.
as to the price if I can sale say 100 bords fast I might try to get it in around 100$ ( hope) otherwise I'll have to print 1000 boards to keep the price low (honestly i hate large printouts ... too expansive tooo risky)
Also about port.. we can pur RS232 as of now as it does not require too much windows programing. However USB is much better deal but I need someone here to help mw with doing the DLL for talking to the board. I need something like Phidgets API for my product (just a DLL library for flexible API) HID Class Integratioon
