I may be misunderstanding, but how come there isn't a small little beeper on the PCB like this ? or at least the holes to be able to solder one on if you want it ?

I might be wrong but i think the idea is that the buzzer remains remote so you can locate it where you like even if your usb pcb is hidden or in the boot.

The BMW E36's have a gong under the drivers dash, which is designed to be used with a PDC, so 'we' can just run wires to this

There is a connection on Robbys board to run to a buzzer, bong or whatever sound device.

No need for a buzzer or gong. There is a Label on the screen which shows you the distance. Mine announces the distance in feet every sec. when you back up.

the buzzer or gong is meant for when you don't have your pc running, so you're sensors will work even then

Hi everyone.

I have a "no drill" or electromagnetic strip parking sensor.

Will this interface work with it?

Mine is a clone of the proxel unit (http://www.proxel.com/).

Any input will be appreciated.

No. Because for LED and LCD PDC you need diferent PIC, so if board is compatible with this PDC Robby must write new code for this PDC...

Had a look through and couldn't see if anyone has mentioned this already but;
Will this board and software work with the 6 and 8 sensor versions?

No, because the two firmware were developed on the 4 sensors version.
Most probably, is possible to develope a new firmware able to work with the 6 and 8 sensor versions, but I would need one of these sensors to analyze the data.

I'm not sure whether it is cheaper to buy two 4 channel PDC versions or a single 8 channel version.

If 4 channel versions are turning out to be cheaper (possibly because of large volumes), how about a single PIC handling 2 PDC boards (Front and Rear). I'd imagine the modifications required could be minimal and the PIC will have ample I/O's and on-chip resources left for this additional 4 channels.
