XMDirect Cable
Well after a couple days of playing with the XMDirect tuner, and doing some research I have been able to make my own cable for attaching the XMD1000 to your PC so you can control it using your serial port using frodoplayer.
It's actually quite simple first you need to find either a 8 pin mini-din plug or a old style mac printer cable.
Then you just attach the pins from the 8 pin din to the following pins on a 9 Pin DSUB Connector using the pinouts below.
XMD -- DB9 Serial
pin 1 = pin 3 Data Receive
pin 2 = pin 2 Data Transmit
pin 3 = pin 5 Ground
Then after you have those connected you just need to find a source of power which can come from your PC power supply. Pinouts below.
XMD -- Power supply
pin 6 = 12v
pin 7 = 12v
pin 8 = gnd
And that is pretty much it. Works perfectly with frodoplayer.
Images of the pinouts below.

if you want to add status lights for transmit and power use a 200 ohm resistor to a LED hooked to pin 3 and for power use a 500 ohm to another led.
