WOW!
that IS sexy.
guess I'll need to acquire a better iron tip and some flux... there seams to be a lot of very very big parts in there!
Question: what is the RJ45 socket for?
I think I recon a molex power connector, some audio in/out and a knob, but the RJ45 connector.?.!
maybe I missed something? I tough I did read the whole 2 threads..?

I believe that's the ICSP port -- to allow for firmware upgrades and in circuit debugging.

That's not a knob. It's a standard automotive antenna (aka Motorola) recepticle.

The connector is an I²C output to connect later devices through USB to the PC like Rando's compass. in order not to get lost

Oh OK, I assumed the I²C was on the 5 pin header. So is the header the ICSP port then or isn't there one?

Wow! Hats off guys.
I've been on this forum for many years now and I've heard people's ambitions to write software, build hardware etc...most never come to fruition.
But, now we have 2 or 3 really good software programs and looks like we are well on our way to having (hopefully) a really good radio for our hobby. Man, you guys ROCK!
Cheers and Beers!

Again bullseye Rando! it's a ISCP port.
Connected the unit today and it's doesn't smoke , voltages are all within range. Tomorrow I'm gona get some IC's to make the serial-I²C interface so I can test if we can get some sound out of it.

Oops, typo -- I should have said ICSP not ISCP. BTW, You can make the parallel I2C interface today -- no ICs needed!
Or just send me the board ... I've already got the I2C stuff worked out. Buahahaha
