well good at least it's going there. After you get mobile impact running also try going into the mixer and changing it from there. I had alot of problems with the line-in on mine at first too, but after some fiddling it worked.

Just thought I would let everybody know that I got an old MAC printer cable and hacked off the one end and after opening up the cable, I noticed it only has 5 wires plus the shielding wire.
Looks like he gave me an old MAC parallel printer cable...and even tho it has the correct din on the one end, they cheaped out and didn't put all the wires inside the cable.
Now I am on the lookout for another din cable.

Help Please!!!
Well I've been reading, searching and trying different things for about 3 days now on here and I still cannot get any sound from my XM.
I'm running a VIA MII 13000 MB and I'm using the onboard sound going out thru the SPDIF & TOSLINK to an H701 and then the amps. I've got my XM box hooked up to COM 1 with a Hybrid cable and the RCA's going to the "line in" port. It populates the different XM apps I've tried with channel info and all just fine, just no sound. I did try a set of desktop speakers on the RCA output and they worked fine. Everything works great but the XM.
Any suggestions???
Thanks

this may sound dumb... but did you use the input on the mainboard or the input through the rear panel, I was having a similar problem except that mine was just a mute box was checked for my CD Audio, and it just so happens that i was using the CD audio connection on the board
hope that helps and good luck

Thanks for the reply Shaggy. I'm using the the "Line In" jack on the rear panel. I've checked just about everything else and still don't have anything.

Mine is doing a similar thing... luckily I haven't had much time to look at it yet or I would no doubt be pulling my hair out over this as well.
Did you try running the Xm testing program that was mentioned previously? It seems to have helped others as well...

Finally found a few minutes to look at this...

Any suggestions?

Hmmm, a "full" XM receiver has internal MUTE and VOLUME functionality, so the test app may be setting one/bothon the way out.
What test app are you using?

I'm posting this message because I feel like my brain is going to explode. So much researching and I feel like I'm close, but want to verify that I'm not missing something. I'm building a carputer for my '05 Acura TL and I want to have the ability to preview/control the XM channels via my carputer.
What I'm thinking is the way to do this is take the signal from the TL XM unit in the trunk, build a cable like the beginning of this thread and bring it into my carputer's serial port and line in. From there, I send music out via line out, and with the P.I.E.x3 (or something else if someone has a better suggestion) connect it to the OEM headunit.
So the question I have is:
"Is it possible to do this with the OEM Acura TL XM reciever box, or do I have to purchase the XM direct unit?" If I have to purchase the XM direct unit, how does that work? Can I change my XM subscribtion from my TL box to the XM direct box?

Hi Lizor,
are you using an xmpcr or a xm direct or something else? There are people here who make the cables for the xmdirect or you can usually find them on eBay. if the xmpcr then you can purchase usb to serial adapters on ebay also...does that help?
