when i checked the inverter it was 13.9v. The molex in a desktop is 12.0V. Will it be ok to have a power source that is 2 extra volts?

Thank you very much jcdillin

yes, the xmdirect has a good regulator in it, I have ran mine from 15v with no issues at all.

I'd check the specs & see what the unit is rated at. I agree it has a good regulator in it, but safer to check just in case. The specs should have "input Voltage" or something like that.

Should the xmdirect 12volt be connected to a "always on" or ACC?

doesnt really matter, only problem with connecting it to always-on is that you run the risk of draining your battery.

Just wondering, would u guys want us at hybrid to offer a simpler cheaper lite version of our cable for car pc only (no AC power supply or led power lights)?
If so I can have them ready in less than a week

this post is for anyone w/ the via board and the Sound blaster aud. 2 card thats having problems with their xm unit....you need to go into the bios settings and disable your onboard sound and use the line in on the sound card itself.....i know it was a pain in the a** for me to figure out and it was a simple solution that seemed to take me forever to think of and i wasted hours of pointless reading....i hope this post will save someone a lot of time and effort
