Good God (The keyboard, not the crash.. Well I guess both, but more emphasis on the keyboard).

When the airbag goes off, most people aren't left with the car's logo tatooed to their foreheads... The airbag/horn cover flips up or down to let the pillowy soft airbag shoot out at you at the speed of a bullet.

So in RPM's case, the keyboard will be projected at a high rate of speed through the windshield. That is if his bag was hooked up...

if you attached it well enough & above the seam, it would just flip up with the cover & not be a concern, mercedes does this with a pretty big emblem & other oem's have done similar...., you'd have to be careful not to make any tears in the tighly packed bag though... it's kind of like a thin cavas material, but usually spun glass like fiberglass.....

this could be done...... the weight shouldn't be too much of an issue as far as affecting the velocity.... some bags can be disasembled & some can't though, you'd definately have to take it apart to do it.... ideally it'd wind up pretty flush mounted..

@RPM,
That thumb pad is a good idea too, but get this...

I showed my wife, and the first thing she said was " Oooh, look at the smiley face!! Thats cute!"

The more I look at it, the more I have to agree with her! That is pretty darn cute!

Mobile WiMAX

Mobile WiMAX is coming in 2007. It will work at highway speeds with DSL level data rate. My Treo650 on CDMA doesn't transfer data very well at more than 45 MPH.

Talk about off topic!

I was using my Sprint vision with Google Earth today at 80+ MPH. I haven't got my Power Vision phone yet, but with Google Earth GPS solution, I'm working on it.

To get things back on topic (well, kinda) I decided to run out and take a pic of my Alps Touch-Pad and Griffin Power-Mate knob as I was describing earlier. It may not look like it from my camera-phone's pic, but I did cut a hole in the center console so the touch-pad is flush-mounted (just as the thumb-pad is in the steering wheel). I love how the square plexi below the Power-Mate fades from red to blue.

You can also kinda make-out Google Earth running full-screen

Mine splits right across the middle.

Funny you mention getting tattooed. I knew a girl who got "FORD" burned into her arm by an airbag.
