not all signals/cities will have mirt, and some are protected by code

I am gonna GUESS that instead of just a steady frequency like the schematic shows it would be a more complicated on/off pattern.

You could always sit out in front of a ambulance corp, with some sort of infared capture device. That way you would catch the pattern that they use in your area. Of course, you might have to drive in front of an ambulance while they have the lights on too.

have a buddy who made one and says it works alright.... he did also mention it took him a few hours of sitting in a parking lot aimed at a light he knew would work with a mirt to calibrate it.....i would like to try this out as well in a while after i get started on my vr4puter project....

Why? There's a difference, IMO, between not completely stopping at a stop sign, or going 5mph over the speed limit, and having a device which changes traffic signals. While unlikely, it'd suck if you change the light to your favor, only to have an approaching cop/paramedic coming from the cross-ways direction try to change the light in their favor and not be able to do it.

They are harder to get then you think. If you think alot of people have them. Think again. I dont abuse the system mine work. They stay in my basement. I dont carry them everywhere I go like you think.

If someone abuses the system they will get caught! Most people would love to have one/build one. But they never get around to it. I would say chances of hearing about some getting caught is slim.

Yeah everyone that has one thinks likes that. Also Mirts dont work. I wouldnt waste my money on that crap device.
