Is it just me that gets no sound after changing frequency in radiator. I am using radiator and the DLL that you can find in a link to somewhere in this post. It works fine until you try to change the frequency. Then you get no sound and radiator freezes when you try to end the program. If I kill the radiator.ini file I can use the program again.
The silabs device has good reception in stationary use. Havnt tried it in the car yet.

hi evryone, just wantd to share my experience. I am using silab usb fm on my car nothing special just striped wire from car antena connectd with silabs antena and reception is close to perfect. i used it for awhile without connectng it to car antena it was almost useless because i had to hola it to get reception. Im using it with RR n radiator with digital fx skin. No rds on skin neither on radiator. Reception minimally changed with speed, id say 10%. I am very happy with my buy and install. thanks for the guidance guys i wouldnt b enjoyn it without this thread. keep up the gud work. HOPE TO SEE RDS ON ME RR!!!

I havent had the problem, but i think someone posted previously said something about usb devices, unplugging something, not really sure??

i've noticed that there are 2 different dll'd for radiator on here. I've got this one and it works ok.

http://www.alibri.it/RRMobile/Silab%20USB%20Radio.htm

let me know how you go with that

I have tried with two different dll:s with no success. Are you supposed to just copy the dll in your plugin dir or all of the files in silabtest?
It still locks up after you have changed the frequency. Works fine with the silabs original program.

I thought maybe the fault is in my carpc setup so I tried to launch radiator in a stationary computer but it wouldnt even start. I get som Eaccess error so I cant even start radiator.
The silabs original program works fine. I figure radiator must be some extremely buggy program. Or am I missing some crucial install? Some codecs that have to be installed or something else?
I thought the only installs where the radiator package and the dll file.

Are there any alternatives to radiator if I want to use silab in RR?

USB radio frequency error!!!

Been playing around with the USB radio for a bit and have noticed a small problem with my radio...

In my house 'Radio 1' is at 99.30MHz, a local station 'Pirate FM' is at 102.80MHz. Any radio I use, auto tunes to these frequencies. The USB radio is .10 MHz out, which is pretty anoying. This is the same with every radio station it tries and tunes too.

Anyone else had this with there radios?

Did u switch radiator settings to use external dll? check config on radiator program folder if you can see external driver=usbradio.dll. Gud luck!

have you tried not using the search functionality and tried manually incrementing by .10mhz??

you could also set it up as a preset.....

I used to use the magic box pro for FM, but the performance (even though it was the best I had found at that point) is absolutely no match to the quality and signal strength of this tiny little radio! And to make things even better it supports RDS.

Here is the antenna mod I did...

Fitted in car

Here it is running a full 75 ohm system and splitter to both the silabs and the DVBT tuner part of the magic box pro

The only issue I have found is that the RDS info is all jumbled up, or it doesn't refresh at the rate it comes in at. I downloaded the demo from this thread, and all I get it chopped up sentences, it seems that the data coming in is scrolling, but the app can't refresh at the same rate as the scrolling....

Any ideas on this?

Other than that I have got this functioning in my car, all but the rds..

I'm using the vb6 example from a thread I can't find now, but thanks to whoever it was

Where dit you get the Silabs USB tester program? cannot finde it
