I've never used Media Center or Media Portal, so I don't know if they support external plugins.
If they do, then it's definitely possible to get it working.
I still haven't tested reception in my truck hooked to my stock antennea. Its on my to-do list ;-) I'm just not a huge fan of taking my dash apart.
Also, I've gotten used to listening to the radio while at my desktop, so I may have to buy another for use in my truck ;-)

Can anyone in Europe sell me a Silabs please ? (PayPal)
(I need a RDS stream supplier for my RDS Interpreter tests (from Areoanderz originally written for the HQCT))
I ordered 2 with 2 credit cards (from a friend) and both are not working - I HATE credit cards - this is absolute american invented crap - sorry I had to say that (on the other side there are a lot of cool things from the states ).

I'm going to see how it works if I connect the wire to my stock antenna this weekend.
If anyone is interested in my radiator compatible plugin dll, PM me and I'll send you a copy.
Did you ever get a chance to test it in your truck witht he stock antenna? How'd it sound?

I think it's always out of stock. They order them from the manufacturer when they get an order. Mine is scheduled for delivery for tomorrow -- 3 weeks after my order.
I'll post some test results as soon as I can.

I ended up picking one up. Decent reception in my room... If you play with the string aeral it came with, you loose reception fast. Also found the RDS to be a bit sluggish, and will only work on FULL reception.
I have yet to try it on a real antenna... Only can cross my fingers.

Radiator compatible plugin
I've had a few requests for this, so I decided to just put the dll here so people don't have to wait for my slow butt to reply.
I know some people are interested, but I still haven't gotten around to testing it in my truck. I hope there's no after me over it. I hope to get it tested this weekend, but who knows.
I've also had a request for my source, I don't really mind giving it out, but I want to make some more internal changes before I declare this plugin fully workable for in-car use. Mainly I want to change it to use direct sound. Hopefully that will reduce the requirement that I bump the process priority to above normal while the plugin is in use. I found that under some medium CPU loads the method SiLabs uses to play the audio (waveIn and waveOut) is prone to skipping.
At any rate, all I've done is a little restructuring of the code SiLabs handed us at this point, so my changes are of minimal real value (I did manage to decouple the GUI from the radio - by tossing the gui and then getting the radio working )

Actually, I used WickersWammie's DLL file and got it to work streetdeck no problem.... well not much problem. (just throw the DLL in your my document/streetdeck/plugins/radio)
No RDS in streetdeck, as expected. But the problem comes in that, you have to press the preset on the radio twice to get it to work. The first time you press the LED on the USB radio goes green and no sound. The second time, it does its alternating red and green and works great. After that you can change the channel no prob. However, if you go "SEEK" it will seek another station, but, wont tell you what channel it is in streetdeck. It just stays on the last one you were at. Wow, does it ever slow down when you have it running though. I think you could probably fix that with the direct sound thing you said you are doing.
The last thing was switching from the radio back to your mp3 music in street deck. Somehow the volume to the music module gets muted, you have to go into the volume control module and just tap the radio bar... and its all back to normal.
Damn I need to try this in the car .
Thanks for the DLL Wickerswammie!

Sounds good, almost like with a few tweaks (by someone MUCH more clevera than me clearly) that this would work well with SD

DLL issue using Street deck.
Try it using just radiator. I had an issue with radiator on my system where it would start muted, so I had to do some funky stuff in the DLL to take that into account. Maybe SD was doing that work already so it forced it to not work?
I'm using RR on mine and I don't have any issues with the version I'm running (the one I've handed around) (on my home PC).
If it works good in Radiator without SD for you guys, I'll make another version that will not do all the fancyness I added, which will probably work right away with SD.
I don't have a copy of SD, so I can't test using it.
