Had no worries with them getting the order in. It should arrive by the end of Jan.

Thwack,
I contacted Braemac and they said that they wouldn't be able to get it for me !! who did you speak to/ email to? I spoke to the sydnet office, if your order still hasn't arrived could you increase the qty to 2, and i'll deposit the money to your account. Or alternativley give me a contact and a reference number for your order and part number so I can get someone at braemac to get it for me...

Hope this isn't an ovvious question, but here goes.
I am programming my own front-end and am using Radiator for the FM part. I have a couple of questions:
1) I find the search very crappy and wonder how the search works with this USB FM device.
2) The USB FM device has RDS, does Radiator display the RDS info?
3) Can you use windows messages to control the USBRadio software, and get information from it, RDS station name, Frequency etc.?The software is very quick to load, and by the sounds of it, the quality of the device is pretty good

If you want one of these and live in England, try this link
http://www.azzurri.com/store/product...fmradio-rd.htm
They are £17 and £6 postage. Oh.....Then bloody VAT at 17.5%
Ends up £27.03
Not too bad.
Can't wait for it to arrive and have a good play about with it, I'll post the results soon

The software is open source, written in C. So you can modify it as you please. I don't see why you couln't get it yo pass windows messages or get it to listen for windows messages...
I'm interested to see how you get along with it. Keep us informed!

Is there anyone who has got any sample code to work the USB Radio in VB.net or anyone used windows messages to control the USBRadio softwarethat coms with it?
Cheers

you would have to re-program the whole thing, port it all across to vb or .net
or why not just use radiator and use windows commands for that, may be easier?

Will Radiator display the RDS information?
Also, I find Radiator to be very crappy at auto searching, does it work any better with this USB radio?

Smol,
just logged in again (I am moving and have been really busy) after a while. My SiLabs Radio arried from Braemac today. Looks good and I will be connecting a Motorola plug to it tonight.
Their part number for the radio was USBFMRADIO-RD.
I spoke with Lisa Diaz in the Melbourne Office. Lisa has confirmed by email that they now have 9 in stock. Lisa's email is l.diaz@braemac.com.au.

I just got a quote from Lisa yesterday - were you quoted $45.45 + GST + $10.50 postage? Hows the Motorola plug connection coming along? Photos would be very handy

I read that this unit has excellent selectivity (1mV) but its sensitivity (2mV) is not as good compared to a normal radio unit which has a sensitivity of about 1mV.
Im thinking of buying a jaycar signal booster kit (AUD$20) which gives +18dB of singal boost, to see if it removes the slight static I get on some stations.
I'll report back if I proceed.
