How do I connect the HQCT-eA?

Now that I have a HQCT-eA. How do I connect the HQCT-eA?

I'm assuming I connect from the computer ear jack to the HQCT-eA either by the aux1 audio input or the aux2 audio input. Is this correct?

it does make sense. We have expanded the functionality of our RRHQCT software to do just what you want, right now we test it with the HQCT-eA but it will work with any HQCT.

RR is starting the RRHQCT program when radio is selected and stopping it when another sound source is selected. We have modified our software to switch to AUX2 instead of stopping the program. When selecting Radio the program will adjust the volume setting to follow the selected volume slider in windows (i.e. follow the volume slider of RR). When switched to AUX2 the volume settings of the HQCT for this setting are fixed, ie can only be changed in the RRHQCT window, because RR is controlling the volume of the other sound sources (via soundcard or Winamp,...) the HQCT must NOT influence it. Basically, one must select Radio, tune to a station and adjust the RR slider to a certain level, then switch to another source, set the RR slider to the same position as for radio and then adjust the RRHQCT volume slider to get the same sound volume, after this, the RRHQCT program stores this setting and the volume from all sources wil be the same and controlled from the RR slider.
This is still the beta version, we did plan to switch to AUX1 after the program is running fine.
We will modify it right now and send you a copy of the program, do send us your mail address (mailto info@datalex.be), the program is too large to attach to this thread so i want to send it directly to you.

Since RR is using Windows messages we had to overcome the stop program command sent when selecting another sound source or when exiting RR. In order to stop our program you must click 1 first and then 2, otherwise RRHQCT stays ON and you cannot stop the PC...

Hope this made sense...

Diogenes.

Hi Team,

Were should I post comments on this beat app? For now I will use this thread.

This is how I would like my HQCT to operate.

[1] AUX output always active without RRHQCT running (if possible) defaults to this on exit
[2] When switching from Radio or when radio app closed, then AUX to be the default and for the HQCT to auto switch back to AUX.

What I've found with this beat software.

[1] Cannot close app, have to use task mgr to force close, i assume this is part of your comments to choose 1 first then 2 to close
[2] This app has heaps of options and setting so I do not know how to accurately use it to it's full capacity - any dummy's guide
[3] Have to sometimes toggle radio off / on to get sound.
[4] Audio levels always vary or seems to default
[5] As I run this on my carpc with 7in screen, I cannot see other option in the RRHQCT app.

Is there anything specific I need to further try to aid with this beat testing?

Thanks heaps!

Hello.

This is where I stand with my project atm. By removing the internal smb connactions and soldering the antenna wire directly to the board helped reception a bit, by moving the radio module as far as possible from psu helped also a bit, but overall it is still very bad.

I found another weird error today the reception of the antenna is affected by LCD, if its turned on i can hear a huge loss of signal. From my tests its not bound by the vga cable or the power going into the lcd, tried with external battery and removed vga cable completely from pc. The bad thing is that it affects the overall performance of any radio reciever in the car e.g. tried that with an aftermarket car radio. Any ideas? Im using CarTFT CTF1020 lcd.

Another thing i wanted to let you guys know that i solved the hqct hanging problem after suspend:

1) first of all i removed the ultrathin power cables from the M2-ATX - psu i was using and replaced them with 4mm2 ones. Then i connected hqct directly to the 12v and 5v rail of the psu, but i cut the 5v rail with a relay and let the 12v rail to drive it. So basically as long as 12v is active the radio module is powered, but if it goes to suspend the relay will cut off the 5v and reseting the module completely. On resume the power will be restored long before centrafuse activates radio itself. I figured that i can even add a switch to the relay, so i can basically reset the module without restarting the whole pc. That kind of reset requres the restart of CF also, but that's still alot faster than complete restart. So far it has been working well.

with the HQCT-e

Can u tell me the purpose of joining 2&3 and can the antenna supply a constand trigger for my amps? or will the 12v drop after the tuner is closed and CD or AUX is selected?

Finally what is the purpose of input activations for the NAV & PHONE?

Thanks
