Not sure, I ordered two lenses, some character lcds and a bunch of other odds and ends. I believe shipping was ~$7 for all.

The biggest problem I'll have with this + the hud glass is space. My windsheild is low slung.

BTW, just ordered another of these lenses. Last time I posted about the hud glass, a few days later they went up a couple bucks.

I definitely want to try and make a DIY projector with one.

Some better pics..

Some distortion at the edge, but I'm pretty sure that can be accounted for.

To be honest, I'm more thinking of using a nitemax lcd to make my own projection tv at the moment. The res ain't great, but at this point, mostly what I need is a lightsource. Happen to have some 300w projector bulbs around .

If you want to build a cheap projector/projection TV you can use an old PS1 mobile screen. They are pretty popluar choice for the home theater guys.

Not a bad idea, lot's of how-tos and can get RGB in.

Though I'm tempted to just throw one together with the lil' nitemax as you could make it pretty small and the fresnels would be damn cheap. I'll have to contemplate it a bit more.

Yeah, for a while I was thinking of uing a PSone LCD and while doing some research I found a home theater forum with a DIY section filled with guys who were using the PSone LCD for projectors.

you know what's interesting...my second nitemax project is a near eye display modelled after the Advanced Warfighter project's ocular piece with a JT Execllerator 6.0 Paintball Gun and a 2x color and black and white CCD w/ 2x zoom (probably two black and whites though, though i want a little color in my helmet mounted CCD) and a PVR to record the whole scene. Easy project cause after the carputer and everything, my brain won't take much more. I have a seller, but i digress. He has some Kopin 320x240 micro displays that he wants to get rid of for cheap. By micro, the display itself fits on a dime an the whole housing is the size of a quarter. He's offered me a driverboard (neccessary) and 10 QVGA displays for $100 Its a steal, but i don't need that many displays. These micro displays are used in TVs and whatnot, so, you know...projection TV, or other things. Just a thought. Its B&W though, so i dunno...

window pics!!!

Window pics are probably a ways off. Without moving some stuff, not enough room. Like I said, my windshield is low and this lens is sizeable. If I can work out all the optic issues, I'll probably have to lose my drivers side HVAC vent (or reroute it) to make room.

Hi…. I think I found something interesting.. check it out http://www.laser-magic.com/transscreen.html
You can make your whole windshield as a screen ( I'am gonna do it soon).

I have searched forum for this one and no result. Sorry if it is repeated.

Mike…. I would like to get a color board of the nitemax, are they still available? I have a color screen but not sure about the board the input video is colored and the output is B&W.

This is my first post and hoped to do something useful before asking around how to do this and that as I am also new about carputer thing but I am learning around. I think this is thread is one of my best projects to be done ( one is done )

XLT, did you ever call the company to find out the costs of one of these things? Da-Lite Holocreen cost 3 grand. Believe it or not, for alot less, you can do the polarize film trick that shotgun made nand that would do it just fine

Mark has lots of parts, included what you requested. Just ask and pay.

Genesisfactor, not yet.... but I will send them email soon, I think it will cost $$ since they are used in movies and big companies, and not for consumers.

Of course, there is always plan B, and what shotgun made is great too.

I apologize, i forgot. I had an 8x12 qouted from DaLite at 3 grand. The screen is $11,000!! Its bottoms out at $500 a square foot. You'll be using shotgun's method if you want full screen. However, you'll be tiniting the INSIDE window. Must make sure everything complies to state laws and also, make sure that you use alot of black for the negative space. Its one thing to have a full screen windshield that you can play with, drive an look out of. Its another to have just a full screen windshield that you can play with, drive...and....oh crap
