Shotgun, sweet, keep me posted from time to time on that one.
Ydiddy, money is not my biggest hinderance. I was involved in an MVA in dec and have TBI- traumatic brain injury. I need time for the "genius idea" to click and for me to "get it". That's me personally and i'm not the only one in this, soyou have other wickedly intelligent peopel on this. PLus., this is a process. First we have to get it to work in a rough form. Then we have to redesign it into a nicer, more workable form. We're still on step 1, although we've made some MAJOR headway in some respects. We're building this for ourselves, and each design is probably going to be different, but i want to make something that would be easy to build so that others could benifit without needing to go through the crap WE are going through.

This probably won't help solve any of the problems any of you have had so far, but I thought I show you guys what bits I'm collecting to work on this myself....
Ultra Compact Size: All display panels measure less than 1-inch diagonal yet can produce images equivalent to 20-inch diagonals or more.
Low Power Consumption: The CyberDisplay Module Solutions and EVFs consume less power (as low as 25 mW) making them the preferred choice for portable electronic applications where low power consumption is critical for long battery life.
High Resolution: Displays are available in either monochrome or color with pixel resolutions ranging from 173x218 to 1280x1024.
Bright Images: Color displays produce 16.7 million colors and over 200:1 contrast ratios while monochrome displays are available with 256 grayscale. All are sunlight readable.
Now, I have no idea how to wire this into anything and get it to produce a picture, so I guess I should start reading up on that!
Still working on that PDF btw!

They are Microdisplays. You need a driver board, which is expensive. They are used in near eye devices and projection TVs. We went down this road eariler in this thread. Not what we need for this particular project man, sorry. If you want a set of monochrome 320x240 displays, i know a seller who will sell you like 2 or 10 displays and a driverboard for $100 or something. I forget, but that's what he offered Mark and I.

Are we missing something here?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HUD-T...14271662QQrdZ1
Some guy talking about it
Mister1rg
You can see the lighting from the projector from outside the car if you are in front of me(standing) however from a rear view mirror or something i dont think you can see it, the tint plus the distance would make it difficult. and from any other angle because of the tint you cant really see it, and the tints kinda like a one way mirror, the only thing you cans ee is the light the actualy numbers and bar you cant see from that angle, only inside the car.....
You cant see it in the daytime, however gettin a darker tint then i have on that front windsheild work work but it would also be a bit distracting....and yea it always says plasmaglow, but i kinda just look throught that, but i wouldnt doubt you can take that out, there seems to be a lot of options with the programming.
Oh and not drunk.... tired

we have started with those devices such is on ebay, problems the bars, and lightings are directional, and brighter, so anything will work as a reflection
what we are taling is possible mini lcd projector for our work, i am beginning to look for alternatives such as adding a layer of the holo screen into my speedometer, and project content there, that way it is always in the shade, and sun would not fry the lcd @ noon
another way i this happening as if you make a sliding up down screen with rear projection
