well as for my updates i went simple route since i can't find any 2006 golf jetta boards.

i plant to cut out plexi glass layer of my speedometer, then embed HUD glass into, and plant it over the speedometer, then reflect image from 5.6 screen pda or somethinng, the problem i have is that my main monitor is 10.4 inch, and i could run dual display but i do not want to, running then paraller, (way to big of difference in resolution signals, so i might leave it.

i still have to finish the sliding tambour door, hook everything up, move climate control down to the center console, blah, blah door panels, and upholstery+ few exterior tweaks

You guys don't think I drive around in an Ice Cream Truck bucause it helps my image, do you? It's the ultimate solution for Mobile Storage! (They're cheap on eBay too.)

A good idea, but insurance is ridiculous around here. Plus someone would end up breaking into it

Glad this project isn't dead because I'm very interested in this. I will be catching up on the thread to see if there's any progress.

Funny, just saw a mention in an article on autospeed.com talking about a nightvision system coming out next year by I think by Valeo.

Just a lcd mounted over the gauges, BW cam and IR headlighuts like I was putzing with inj my fogs.

Okay, i have an LVDS screen in my possession and i'm working with motorcity to get it working off my SBC. Then i'll be siting in a busted up accord trying to see what i need what to do where. Hopefully i'll be able to get some decent brightness. The ultimate hope is tat because the screen is .25" thick and 14.2" dia, i can make it so that i don't need to cut the dash, but then i'd need some crazy power and upgrade the backlights wouldnt' i?

I have a choice guys. I can get a mil spec grappling hook rappelling system with hook, 100ft of rope, and gloves or finish off the LVDS screen...which i will end up doing anyways...what do you think i should do? ANd i have that bezel to finish up for mass production for you guys too...screw that... i'm dizzy as a drunk guy, that bezel can wait...

So, really cool grappling hook or LVDS for the really cool HUD? i'm indecisive!

okay, it will take another $65 to get this bad boy prototype up and running. Then i'll need to upgrade the backlight to something much more powerful. MotorCity is being a big help in this and has directed me to an inverter that has an analog backlight adjustment option, which will be good for switching between day and night!

Contrary to popular belief, I am not dead, just busy busy busy.

Plus, I've spent the past few months car-pc'ing not night-visioning. However, just to toss in y status, I recently was fortunate enough to find a Datavision HUD on e-bay, for $150.00 shipped!!!

Even if is suck for the NV setup, I'm sure I'll find a use for it somehow.

I'll keep ya'll posted! Good luck GF with your LVDS project, and Shotgun, heal up fast!

Long time no see. Thanks, I hope I heal quick two, but looks like it will probably be close to XMAS if all goes well.

I decided to play with those big illuminators I had around.

I just cut off the controller of the board as I can't figure out how to drive the synch signal, it just stops working after a second or two. I took my Sonycam and put it in nightshoot but taped over the leds built in. I must say it's very bright. (should be, pulls about 3.2amps)

Big even spot and I was able to illuminate an area on the adjacent building about 100 ft away (and it wasn't very dark as it was cloudy and with all the light pollution). It was pouring rain so I really couldn't test any better.

There is an access alley next door, about 150-200ft and pitch black. If I can get the key off my landlord, I'm going to take it in there and do another test and film it. Hopefully today if I can solder on the longer leads. Broken hands suck

'Bout damn time! Good luck with the new wheels!

I might be interested in the 10" TS Panel, do you have/could I get the USB controller for it? Does it need anything else (besides the controller board / inverter)?

PM me of you like.
