we already went over this somewhere in in page 14-18
we have accomplished a reflection, and everything, what we are trying to do now is actually have it displayed on the window, not a component, also we are also talking about auto IRIS cameras available so the image would not be blinded by oncoming lights

Hey TIMMY,
Yea, we're there and beyond htat. Way beyond that. We're trying now to project a virtual focal point past the screeen. Currently, the best i've been able to get is ~5-7' from the driver's eye. I need to effectively double that. once that is done, i have everything i need...except the car lol.
Shotgun, LMK where you get with it. As quantum says, its pretty exact science but i'm sure we can do some of this my trial and error and hten harden it with some sort of coating...
Did the gameboy magnifier work?
I'm using a 12.1" screen, btw, guys. I guarantee, your solution will not be my solution:-P. Atleast in scale anyways.

The GB magnifier (last time I looked which was a long time ago) had to much distortion. The chrome film (from alsacorp.com) is chrome in adhesive backed lexan so it could be applied to a surface if the shape works out and you wanted to bond it to something.
Just got a new 1.2 2.8mm lens with auto-iris and the Quad is in and installed. Hopefully have some pics up later.

Hi people. i was busy with some jobs, but i am back on night-vision track. I have a 297x210 mm piece of polarizer now, and 10 different fresnel lenses to play with. Meanwhile, one of my Nitemax cameras got "housing". Now i am moving to "displaying" part of the job.

This would be a nice and compact solution if it works

It wil wok bt i do imagine that if that's being placed outside, that youwill need the hose the whole thing. Remember its more annoying o kep readjusting the focal depth than it is to just have a static al around purpose one.
Noface, dont bother with HUD glass. Mostly because in may states, its illegal to have anything "obstructing" your view, including fuzzy dice. Atleast a reflective option makes it something ou can turn off when State Trooper Jackson walks up, pulling the stick out of his butt to shove up yours
Yes, i like fuzzy dice too and it makes me sad as well...

I will not adjust anything... I will set the focal to suit my needs, once and for all.

mugurg are you planing on placing the camera outside? My first install was with the camera behind my grill but that didn't work out that well... My biggest problem was condensation on the lens. even though the housing with the PCB was waterproof the lens was exposed. so after a rainy day (VERY common here in Boston) I would get condensation on the transparent cup covering the lens tube, removing the protective cup made things worse. The the next problem was that when it was raining the water drops on the lens would distort the picture too much to be useful. Also a minor issue was dirt! I had to clean the lens every couple of weeks.

I never really got any pictures with the grill installed... But it was really not easy to see there was a camera there. very conspicuous
I ended up moving it behind my mirror on the windshield. It has been WAY better. The only slight problem I have is reflection of my dash. I will be trying some polarizer films to solve that.
even though the lens is really obvious from the outside, you don't see it much from the drivers seat. the passenger can get a good look but its in no way in there field of view.
I still haven't found the courage to cut up my dash for installing an LCD to experiment with... the worst part it that I need depth if I am going to use any lenses above the LCD and I don't have any space... Also I am thinking of selling the car in September so I am hesitant on irreversibly damaging the dash...

Good to here you getting back behind the wheel! I take it you are feeling much better by now!
Enjoy driving around!
Man the smileys became so many that I can't choose what I want every time! I get stack browsing them :P
About the image posting, that is what I do, but at least when I see my posts I see them as links instead of pictures. In my post above do you see pictures in between the text? because I see links and then all the pictures are at the end of the post in a frame that says attached images or something

I feel stupid... So what did you change to make them show up?
Thanks for this Genesisfactor. I've been around for a few years but I never spent the time to figure it out. Although I assume it should be something simple that I missed.
Damn I feel stupid!
