Relay Switch?

hey i have seen and searched about relay switches, and i still dont understand exactly how they work... I know you can control windows, headlights and stuff with them, but how?

if anyone has the time to explain how they actually work i would be very greatful...

i think hes refering to a relay card, usb or serial controlled. search for usb relay, or serial relay.

yer sorry for the misunderstanding, i am unsure on the terms. I am after information regarding the relay USB switches which allow you to operate car functions, i.e windows, lights... from a touchscreen.

But that site was fun reading anyway... lol

Any sites which can help me understand how this works?

my bad.. well the thread starter -HERE- could probably explain it to you alot better than I could. He's actually making one and is probably going to release a kit so we can build our own off his design. This design is a USB and Software controlled Relay Card. (hopefully I'm on point this time lol)
