No, that's very true.. as I said, beginner carpc
However, the quality of the RCA and Svideo on this is minty, really really nice (the best image I have ever seen on a TV that comes from anything remotely PC like)
I suppose this would knob touch screen usage, but then the wireless keyboard for this does pretty much everything and you can always add in a USB mouse

Who wants to solder a VGA onto these and find out?
Now this sits right next to the other outputs, and I would imagine it's definitely a VGA solderpoint.. whether it functions? give me a few days

Yes, that's a VGA header. Make sure you solder in the correct resistors if you are going to play with it.

I found several that would ship to Europe.. Only thing is shipping-costs, something like $60 per unit.. Making it more expensive than I'd like to pay for a paper-weight
If somehow I could get it to run WinCE 5 or embedded XP on the other hand...

I live in Denmark, maybe we can have a discount on shipping-costs if we order two units.

Can you get the hardware specs from that thing (i.e. what intel chipset? ) If so what's stopping you from injecting the correct drivers onto an nLited Windows XP running from a CF card. Replace thier CF card with yours, there's your windows XP??

Am I the only one that noticed the 40 pin IDE solder pad? i wonder.. it stands to reason that the CF is attached to a HD controller.

But thats just for the VGA connector, how about the rest of the parts that would enable it?

Well if the graphics chip is onboard then it is entirely possible the only thing missing is the physical VGA socket.
I will do my best to verify this, but I have numerous old motherboards laying around with the socket needed, would have to order a braid to remove it tho...
Ill investigate further

I probably had the best deal, small-form-computer wise, anyway. I got two Compaq iPaqs (The computers, not the pdas) and 1 hp e-pc for free. They all have P3 800s and hard drives and are in perfect working order.

The company my dad was working for was moving to a new system and new location, and they were going to throw away all of the old computers. He just brought three of them home, along with three very old (but still working) laptops.
