someone please splain to me

yeah

It only gonna be cheap when...

1) When the unit is bought dirt cheap or was given to you.
2) You already have the tools to hack it.
3) The hack is straight forward and its proven to work.
4) Hack tools can be build easily from the junk box.
5) Nothing else to buy to make it work.

But then the results may not be as good as expected.

hahaha, that's an awesome way to look at it.

I'm just hacking it to learn about hacking it. When I'm done I will turn it into a NAS or something like that. Mine won't be used in the car.

Once my super powers are fully developed I plan to use them for good: I'm actually hoping that I'll learn something useful from the process. Either way, it's a good cheap way to spend my time goofing off (wife likes the cheap part).

In the mean time I'll try my best to help the people who want to use it for something constructive the best I can.

So, I need to look into the cradle first to see if it has what I need before I buy anything.

Not sure if it would work or not with the RM but we use nokia DKU5 cables off ebay to datalog Honda ECU's instead of buidling a MAX232 cable from scratch.

For me, the 12v input is great.

I built a Touchbook CF27 system that turbocad mentioned that runs XP and roadrunner, I like the 12v input, but it's only 300mhz but has a touchscreen but the LCD has a 5" cable

Just about every system has its tradeoffs.

I've got the system up and running with Debian booting off of an external usb hard drive (only a 3gb old one I had). The keyboard works and some of the buttons on the keyboard work when they feel like it, it's a little screwy right now but pretty darned cool. Sound and video are working, but my sound is really quiet for some reason.

I had MythTV installed on it, but the Debian repository has 0.19 and I have 0.18bugfix installed on my backend so I couldn't connect to the database correctly. Other than that, it's been some interesting fun for $25.

Hey guys.

I never got my cable, and other things have come in the way of me playing with my MSNTV, namely a 18" super excursion woofer, another phoenix gold amp and a shroud to build for it and a metal flaked house of kolor cabinet.

I'm not doing this for the money, I have bought all my new gear, it's just time.. This new project of mine is sucking up all the time I had for other things, like the MSNTV.. Couple that with the fact that my mate from the UK who was supposed to make my data cable never did, and because I was waiting on him I didnt buy one and it ended up on the backburner.

So, I have decided (because Im moving house soon) to part ways with this thing and so it's up for sale.

I'm not going to be greedy, it's anyone's who wants it first for $30 plus the shipping.. Realistically I would say shipping to the 48 will be about $15, any more and I will make it up.

So $45 shipped.

I dont stop around here much now, basically I read the PMs and they all ask for the WIKI.. The WIKI is in this thread if you look, there's a link somewhere.

I will also burn on CD all the info, files and other lovliness that you will need.

At the moment it is in a stripped state, which if you want it shipped like that to save time and some head scratching I can do that and put the screws in a baggie.. If you want it reassembled I can do that also.

Please email me, NO OFFERS I dont have time, all I am making on this is $10 and that will cover my packaging, gas to the PO and leave me with enough for a soda.

email is : handsome_rob (@) msn.com, and remove the spaces and the ( )

DONT paypal to that address, I will provide a paypal account to pay it to once you have gotten in first, this is first come first served DO NOT email me if you dont have the money and cant pay for this IMMEDIATELY upon my reply.

If you need a reference go to ebay and look up a user called Jennysauction, that is my wife and the sellers account we use, and also the paypal is linked to it.. We have 100% good feedback over about 60 sales.

Thanks
