USB Device Not Recognized
Hello All,
I have been using my bluetooth dongle for sometime now and just recently it has started giving me the following ballon in the Windows XP SP2 machine.
USB Device Not Recognized
One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it. For assistance in solving this problem, click this message.
It shows the Device Manager, under Bluetooth Device it shows Bluetooth Bus Enumerator and under Universal Serial Bus Controllers it shows one Unknown Device entry.
I have been using this dongle on Windows XP SP2 and it has worked fine, dont know why its giving this error now. Also one thing i noticed is the led on the dongle does not blinks.. does that mean that the dongle is bad now. The USB port which shows that the USB dongle is not recognized does recognizes the USB pen drive.
Thanks in advice.

Did you plug it into a different USB port? My laptop has two adjacent ports and if I don't reconnect to the same one when using my phone as a tethered modem or the BT dongle, the drivers must be reinstalled for it to work again.

To elaborate, I think when I plugged in to the wrong port not only would it not work there, sometimes it would not work on the original port anymore either. I would have to uninstall and then reinstall the drivers to get it working again. Then always make sure to plug in to the same port.

USB device not recognized
The dongle does not work on any USB port on the machine, i am also having the similar problem with another machine in my office. i m wondering if there is any solution for the issue.. i have seem countless forums and they all have some or the other wieard answers and none seems to work for me. I also tried uninstalling n reinstalling drivers n number of times, but no success.
Thanks,
