Yes, but it is do-able. The wiring is no big deal, but you'll need to buy the unit from one place, a resistor from somewhere, and the iBus adapter from another.
Once the software is stable and implemented in RR this is going to be a worthwhile add-on. It is HD!

software sent to hadalgo and 1999m. everyone who has been sent the software please post your experiences and bug's on this thread. If you guys want I could even start a new thread for bug's / feature requests. please let me know.
For the moment the only RR support is to tune up or tune down and display radio data information in RR.
All you need is a label on the skin to display the RDSTEXT variable, example,
L03,48,47,321,31,255,102,0,18,"Digital Readout Thick Upright:B","RDSTEXT","Radio name"
and two buttons for tune up and tune down, example,
B11,-4,114,119,89,"SENDMSG;RRIBusHU;FREQ-","Frequence -"
B14,123,112,111,90,"SENDMSG;RRIBusHU;FREQ+","Frequ ence +"
Also, if anyone wants to go ahead and make a simple skin file encapsulating all the functions of the DICE unit please let me know as it will help me a lot since I am not good with graphics.
If you guys run into any problems let me know.

I just figured out the connections for a BMW just connect everything as you would. The IBUS adapter connected to the PC, connected to the IBUS in the car. The DICE unit connected to the IBUS in the car. I will post a simple diagram showing this.

Mine is working well, with no real issues.
The only thing I have noticed is a lag of over 15 seconds (before I hear music) if I do not start the app right after the PC boots.
Do all of you use the antenna supplied by Dice? If not, what are you using?
Thanx,
Ron

I've spent some time trying to connect the Dice unit to my factory antenna. It is working much better, but I still need to tweak it some more. That damn little SMB connector really limits the possibilities.
Sometimes the delay seems to coincide with lack of reception. I'll get back to ya'll soon.

Ron keep me posted on the delay issue. The dice unit does not output any sound if its not locked onto a station (you will not hear the buzz of the radio on a non broadcasting frequency) unless you are in the manual tune mode.

It does seem to be related to the reception. Some. There is still a delay, but it is 5-15 seconds now.
I did get my antenna situation straightened out yesterday.
I wonder if once the software is integrated into RR, if the Dice can be powered up and operational, but the line muted until RR calls for it.

Is there a way I can hook everything up outside of the car? I want to test it before everything goes in. Currently have everything running on my desk. Someone post a write up on wiring please. Thanks.

See post #170 and 172 in this thread.
I ran it on my bench for a couple of days before putting it in my car.

Hi, can someone help me with this please. Can I connect the audio output from an HD Dice to the AUX in on a head unit or aftermarket processor with adjustable sensitivity and 10k Ohm Input Impedance.
Thanks

Thanks for the reply xtremak - any chance of a picture showing the connections the way you have them in your BMW? I am using the CD IBUS connector to the eedesigns IBUS interface rather than Rolf's, but I assume this shouldn't make any difference?

I will try to get a picture tomorrow. Basically just tap into the wires from the 3-pin connector and run them to the IBUS interface, creating a parallel IBUS connection. This way you can use the headunit if you still have it in the car to control the dice unit along with the software.
I have not used the eedesign's IBUS interface but assuming its similar it should work no probs. Just make sure the CTS line on the serial port works as the software uses this to provide collision detection between IBUS packets.
