if you download ibuscomm (variations of which are avail here on the forum), then you can check the ini file. I think it has all of these therein.

Got an email from reslers.de seller. He said that there should be no issue communicating.
3 wires will be used
1. 12v with a 1k resistor
2. IBUS data
3. Gnd
Since there is no existing "car" wiring we need to add the 12v and gnd.

Hmm so if this works then we can pretty much use any ibus BMW shardware...
XM? Sirius? CD changer? Valentine 1 hack? what else!!!
I will be placing the order for the Ibus usb unit this saturday for testing on an actual bmw... then once i can confirm the coding works i will order the radio.

Units ordered..
Can anyone get the pin out on a BMW 3 series without DSP.. i need the 6 pin harness that goes with the CD changer.
the 3 pin wire is the IBUS wire..
For the 6 pin wire i can only assume its 12V, Gnd, L+, L-, R+, R-

I just ordered up the parts also, so I'll help contribute as I can, I am not a programmer, but I'll have the parts, and I have access to a friend's Z3.
Oh yeah, no HD stations in my area, so I'll be interested to see how the unit deals with the analog stations.
$280 to listen to radio on a carputer, more than the HCQT, but someday we'll get HD in town!

Many thanks sama.
I have ordered everything as well.. Once we get it working all we need to do is get the button codes down and get it implemented in to front ends.

DICE unit will have the 2 harnesses..
1. 3 prong which we will have to connect to the reslers adapter and also splice in 12v+ and GND
2. 6 prong which will have 2 gnds which i dont thing we need and the R and L audio.
We have the button codes figured out.. now we need to find a way to get the Data from the radio station to the display.
Anyone here wanna help with coding? Im just a hardware guy!!!

Creating some logic buttons for front end integration.. we can translate the keypresses into Ibus code later..
According to the manual i created some "macro buttons" i think we can use
FM Manual tune button:
Sent CD Init String
Wait for response
5>>>>>1
Use < > to tune
FM Seek button:
Sent CD Init String
Wait for response
5>>>>>2
Use < > to seek
FM Preset 1:
Sent CD Init String
Wait for response
5>>>>>4
FM Preset 2:
Sent CD Init String
Wait for response
5>>>>>4>
FM Preset 3:
Sent CD Init String
Wait for response
5>>>>>4>>
AM Manual tune button:
Sent CD Init String
Wait for response
6>>>>>1
Use < > to tune
AM Seek tune button:
Sent CD Init String
Wait for response
6>>>>>2
Use < > to seek
Ipod Button:
Sent CD Init String
Wait for response
1
Aux In button:
Sent CD Init String
Wait for response
5>>

No need! There has already been much work to integrate ibus into RR. Recently Warified (I think that's the user) did some work on sending commands to the ibus from RR, and Enforcer added support for this in his iDrive skin. That, added with ibuscomm's ability to send RR commands via COM (look at how it sends next track etc), should give you bi-directional communication.

I know we have the interface.. but i guess we need to figure out the skin commands to use to display the feedback. Such as RDS data and the channel it is currently on.
Since we are using the car pc i also noticed that we can change the display of text. If we set CD-6 to track 3 which is the nav output setting we can set it to display the extended rds and digital info.. up to 20 characters rather than the standard 8 or 12.
