XM Problems - Please Help (and make some $$$)

First let me state that I am not sure this is in the correct sub-forum, and if it is not, I apoligize...

I am having a very hard time getting my XM Direct to work at all. I have a brand new XM Direct box (XMD1000) and a cable which I bought here http://www.mp3car.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=92206.

I cannot seem to get it hooked up and working. I have tried connecting it to the 12v rail and the ground on an open molex connector in my PC, but that immediately turns off my motherboard. I couldn't figure out why this was happening. When I connected a multi-meter to the wires in the open molex, again the motherboard turned off immediately. Why would this happen? I can't figure it out at all.

I have been researching for days, and quite honestly am getting extremely frustrated. Having the ability to preview what is playing on XM stations was one of the selling points for me to build a pc for my car.

I guess I am hoping someone can tell me what may be happening. Or even better, I would love to find someone located somewhere in the Northeast (i live in NJ) who would like to make some $$$ helping me get this set up and working through RR. I have no problem driving for a few hours and paying well, if someone can get this working for me.

Please post any possible solutions, or PM me if you are interested in meeting up to help me out.

give us some specs to the computer, such as, power suplly type, all your prepherials(sp?).. it sounds like, you could either be overloading the powersuply, or could b a faulty power supply, and just to confirm u where using the yellow, black; wires right?

Thanks, I got it figured out. I am an idiot, and it didn't help that the wires on the xm cable were labeled backwords. Works like a charm after reversing the wires.
