I've written all the software myself in Delphi 7, running on XPe. Boot time is 28 seconds including BIOS startup - it takes longer to put the harnesses on

Looks realy realy great!!!
I'm using Delphi 7 myself to write my own frontend. I already found the hardware components for my OBDII interface but I still need to write the software, what components did you use? Or are these also homemade?
Regards,
Putput

I don't need touchscreen as its behind the standard clear dash lens which stops all reflections - even in bright sunlight.

All the gauges are my own components, I'm looking for a decent serial comms component for Delphi 2006... something like Windows Standard Serial Comm Library for Delphi from MarshallSoft computing.

Wow man that dash looks amazing. How much did all the hardware cost for the ecu connections?

The hardware cost amounted to a 3 wire cable with a couple of 9 pin D-type connectors either end. It helps having an ECU which delivers a simple well defined serial data stream unlike OBD2 which is slow and a PITA...

Yeah, I've been waiting to make a digital conversion of my cruddy car for quite some time, but haven't found anything that was less than my ride!

Michael
i have just found this as i am searching how to do the same. I have a 50's VW camper. It has a speedo. that's it.
no temperature gauge, no oil pressure, no tacho/rev counter it doesn't even have a fuel (gas) gauge.
If anyone does know how to read and display all or any of these, please share.

Is there a way, in just having a pcb, where all of your speedo inputs can be pugged into, then you can simply plug it into your car pc, by means of a serial port?
So much easier
Plus, with a 82' VW Golf, we don't have ecu's!
