just one question: the balanced outputs....is it possible to set those to unbalanced via software or is it ok for the unit to see an unbalanced cable on the output side?

balanced has nothing to do with the software. you just ground (pin 3 i think) and you have an unbalanced signal. I'll double check that for you when i get the owners manual but i believe that was what pin i grounded on the behringer amp i am using for my home theater subs.

as far as the advantages of the twisted pear over the dave navone attenuator.. you can keep the tp attenuator close to the behringer unit and remote mount the volume control. another plus is that the pot isn't in the signal path. if you go to diyaudio and check out what they use for their pots they sky rocket in price in order to retain the signal quality.

Yeah - I know that, sometimes on some pro audio pieces you can go into the software and tell is to not send out a balanced signal. At times, some amplifiers that don't need or want balanced inputs need this to work properly...just jumping the pins doesn't cut it.

Hey guys, I got the ps power supply, and put it in my car, I'll be trying it out tommarow. It was too dark to do some safe wiring.

Pics

Well, I totally forgot to include the installation directions...but it looks like that wasn't a problem for you.

Did you see the key "fob"?

yeah, I got it... but my power supply dosn't work... sorry to be the buzzkill

I wired it up checked everything twice as I always do. Tried turning it on and nothing...

Looking at the lights that say the output voltages, not all of them turn on if that helps... I don't think I did anything wrong because it is pretty self explanitory. I'm sending you a PM and an Email also.

Dennis,

This is definitely not a good thing. I not only checked them before shipping, but powered an actual DCX2496 before shipping. All of the LEDs should light at the same time. I will send another one out to you tomorrow morning and send you a return shipping tag on the defective one.

Sorry about this!

Not a problem, these things happen. As I heard once, "Accidents happen, things break, things happen, its not what happens that matters, but how people handle these things once they do happen."

There was a problem, you are fixing the problem in what I would consider probably fastest and best way possible. So thank you for your professionalism, I only wish there were more like you in business.

Dennis

Thank you, Dennis.

I think I have tracked down the problem and I don't expect it to be common among any others - just something I'll have to watch for in the future.

Envision, do your run ezamps.com also? I was thinking about getting some amps for a home stereo I'm going to build after my car.
