A DVD drive and a 5.1 card won't do it for you? What's the problem? Can you expand on what the problem or hurdle is?

i was just sorta wondering if anyone has had a lil more experiance with this then me.... I hate to say that im penny pinching but i really cant afford spending a **** load on experimenting, I dont mind spending cash on what i need to get it running but i guess after the panasonic dissapointment ive gotten a little discouraged

Probalby has somethign to do with the software player. IIRC, creative audigy2 had the ability to play/decode DVD-A, but you had to use thier mediasource software player. Have you tired these?
