Sound card

Hi guys,

I plan my carpc and must decide my sound card. My carpc will work with this audio set:

Focal K2 or Morel Dotech Ovation 2-way
JL 12W7 subwoofer
JL 1000/1v2
JL 450/4v2

Therefore, I need an exelent sound card.

As I still do not buy the motherboard can be PCI or PCI Express

What do you think about Auzentech X-Fi Prelude and HT Omega Claro Halo?

Thanks for any help!

both will work, it is up to you to decide what works best for you.

the question is kind of like asking which is better of 2 cars in a auto forum-- each has its own advantages and disadvantages, but both will work, and do what you need them to do.

the xfi's s/n is 120db, and the omega's s/n is also 120db so the cards are very close, the biggest differences are that the xfi is made by creative(this could be seen as a + or a -), and they are better known, but the omega has rca outputs for all of its channels, and is supported by a different company, so it could have better support/drivers.

i would personally go with the omega, simply becsue i have heard of way to many problems with creatives drivers and support response times.

I have HT Omega Claro Halo XT and I must say:
-Support perfect(They reply in 3min to max 8h delay) When I have problem they send me solution with pictures how to fix it(PCI contact problem and how clean contact) in cca. 5min. Reason has not be dirty contacts but raiser card has not give good contact...
-Some users which are using XFI report sound quality improvent with Halo card...
You can read few pages about HALO Card HERE
