Agreed. The XFI is using a much better chip with more resources available. The 10k1 and 10k2 chips used in the live, original audigy and audigy 2 have been around for so long. One can only hope the Kx project is expanded.

I don't think the audigy 4 is supported either. Nothing later than 2. Even the newer audigy se and value are not supported.

Correction: Audigy 4 is partially supported.

well, those hwo have a non-kx-supported card, can still use the thuneau frequency allocator.... downside: $90, but hey, life isn't free and it never will be. I'm probably gonna test it out soon (somewhere januari-februari, I think). So I'll let you guys know how it went.

I just tried it out yesterday and I hope you have a fast processor. Here is what I tested it on...
Pentium 4 2.6 ghz 800Mhz FSB HT
512MB DDR400
Audigy1 PCI
KX driver
ASIO4ALL installed and active
Winamp with ASIO out and VST plugin
Frequency Allocator Demo running

~40-50 CPU usage!

I think my poor mini-itx carputer would choke.

Anyone else tested it yet?

well, I had a duron 800 I was going to use, but since the minimum requirements of the FA are P4 2.0, I'm looking to buy something faster with a mobile CPU. and that's a hell of a lot CPU usage hope I can find a 3.2GHz mobile CPU or something than and apart from the fairly high CPU-usage? any comments on features and use?

yeah - this was what I was worried about.

I'm looking to rebuild my carPC, and have been looking at 3.0+ GHz desktop processors.....looks like I'll have to stick with em...

looked up some CPU's, might considder to but a DSATX. An M2 won't supply the needed output.... Most 3G+ cpu's are70+ watts +about 15-20watts for memory, so you won't get there with only 96watts that the M2 supplies on the 12v

Just string multiple M2's together and it will be fine. There is a recent thread on it in the power section.

I didn't get a chance to fully test FA. I was playing with the demo (which might limit what features I can use) and all I got out of my home speakers was low frequencies. The routing was a bit strange so I might have to experiment later some other time.

yeah, I know, you can use multiple M2"s, but that"ll cost as much as 1 DSATX. yeah I know, that way you can add more equipment lateron... but are you gonna do that?

I'm pretty sure 15-20 watts is an over exageration for ram, unless you meant two modules
