The bad news is that the solution would be more expensive, you could use multiple Bloat units but I need to verify this with some software. The difference would have been approximately $50US for additional channels in comparison to current $139US Bloat special.

Oooh the BeBoB also mentions I8S in addition to I2S....I wonder if that means 8 channels???

Well considering an ALpine PXA-H701 retails for around $800US, I don't see a problem with pricing just yet.
Our current software needed is $150 for Frequency Allocator + $50 for console +$50 for VAC (for those whose soundcards won't do audio stream capture like Audiotrak's Directwire or M-Audio's/other pro cards)+the cost of a good soundcard.

139x4= $556....
I think if a solution like this really worked it would be worth that... but the problem is even I had 4 of them, could they all work at the same time? then theres the 4 dedicated motherboard usb ports required....
this is the solution that is necissary I think, but built into one usb or firewire interface...

This might be what we have to do instead of USB to I2S. Any other thoughts anyone?
I am not against the BeBoB but a number of things come to mind:
a. Does the software allow for control of each channel individually?
b. What is the specific voltage out?
c. What components used in the DAC/opamp section
I can't seem to find detailed specifications. Google isn't telling me much either. If the board is completely powered from USB that would concern me as there is a lot of components, indicating inferior parts. I will fling them an email and ask for a copy of the schematic of the break out box. Does anyone know the price?

Do you have a link to Frequency Allocator, maybe I download an eval.

All the Digital channels you would ever need...
Digital Audio via Ethernet
AES50 standard, used for pro audio applications... Supposedly very low jitter and latency, and LOTS of channels... Not much info out there..
It looks like I8S is similar to TDM(Time Division Multiplexing) or maybe the same with a different name??

Good News
Good News, working perfectly with the following setup. Excellent seperation in frequencies with the foobar digital crossover plugin and as a bonus all software/plugins are free.
Hardware
PC with 32bit Vista
2 HIPPOhifi Bloats
Sennheiser HD650's
Software
ASIO4ALL 2.7
Foobar2000 v0.9.4.2
Foobar2000 ASIO Plugin Download Here
Foobar Digital Crossover Plugin Information Download Here
It took about an hour or so to get all the applications configured but it wasn't difficult to setup. I spent most of the time configuring ASIO4ALL. The foobar setup was very easy. The foobar xover plugin was very good, you can select 4 frequency groups (sub, low, mid & high) with variable start and finish frequencies for each group. From 1st to 10th order curves, 6db to 60db respectively. All the settings you would expect from a software xover.
Fire away the questions...
