iGuidance running on handheld.

So I noticed an ad in the ABC warehouse paper last week about a GPS unit they had for $99. Of course when I stopped in to check it out they were long sold out. I was curious about the software running on it more than anything, plus looking for a cheap GPS to put on my motorbike. After doing some research it appears that this unit is running iGuidance, from the box and screenshots.

I am curious if anyone happens to have this model? and could share some info on it until I find one.

CE.net 4.2. Looks like iGuidance, you're right I think. Newegg has them for $89. And doubles as an Mp3 player. Sweet.

Newegg price dropped to $79 last night so I went ahead and ordered a couple, one for me and one for my brother in law moving to pheonix on sunday. I'll report back my findings when I receive the unit.

I'm very interested to see how it performs. The GPS receiver in my PDA phone sucks balls... wonder if this device will show the same amount of ball sucking...

Hopefully not, seems to get good reviews from what I have been reading.

Its not really too fancy a model which is what I like, it does play mp3's as really its only other feature, and the real reason I bought it; iGuidance. Half the self contained GPS units out there I can't stand the software.

And even cooler is the probability of upgrading with ease.

Well Im impressed I've got a lock on 8 of 9 satellites inside my house and the interface is very responsive. The mp3 player works good, and the maps are up to date (at least on par with IG3.0 for the pc) Overall I am happy and believe I got a good deal, will be testing cross country in august, we'll see how it does. Here's a couple pics, one thing a bit different I noticed about the interface is the "menu" and "mute" buttons are translucent which they are not on every version of the PC software I've used. Nice touch

Ill keep an update on hacking the winCE 4.2

yourbigfun is on a distinguished road
just a word of warning on hacking these units. i believe they are the same as nexstar units. i remember that the files get corrupted easily when connected to the computer via active sync. i bricked a unit myself. btw win ce will run tomtom 6, but will not run iguidance 4.
